GREAT NEWS! G-Tribe Radiant’s dragon fruit project at Batang Pinangga Orphan Care Center in the Philippines has borne fruit! We extend our heartfelt thanks to the children for sharing their sweet success. Looking forward to an even more bountiful harvest in the months to come! Also, thank you Dg-Bridge for this meaningful collaboration.

Meet Lurline Halliman, our dedicated QA/Content Jr Executive and EMT Operations Assistant at Genashtim. Lurline hails from Kingston, Jamaica, and has been an essential part of our diverse remote workforce since 2019, demonstrating three years of dedication, resilience, and unwavering spirit.

Lurline lives with a complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a form of chronic pain that developed after the injury of two of her fingers in an unfortunate accident at her previous workplace. CRPS often affects a person’s limbs; in Lurline’s case, it has impacted both her hands with severe, long-lasting pain, making everyday tasks like using a computer keyboard and handling paper incredibly painful.

Since the injury in 2009, Lurline’s life has taken an unexpected turn. She had to leave her corporate career as an administrative professional, significantly affecting her livelihood. Fortunately, she discovered Genashtim in 2018 while browsing online job sites. As an organization passionate about uplifting the disadvantaged by offering sustainable and gainful global employment opportunities, we welcomed Lurline into our team with open arms. Thanks to our remote work model, she now works from the comfort of her home. The flexibility of remote work has enabled her to manage the pain in her hands effectively—something she couldn't achieve in a traditional workplace setting.

Support our Mission:

Lurline's story is just one of the many inspiring journeys at Genashtim. With your support, we can continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals like her. Visit https://genashtim.com/ to learn more about our services and how you can contribute to our mission of empowering lives!

Important update: JEDI Jobs, our remote jobs portal connecting disadvantaged individuals with inclusive and diverse employers, will be paused for the time being as it has not gained the traction we hoped for.

We are collecting feedback from our valued users and based on this input, we will consider resuming operations again. If you are registered as a jobseeker or employer and want us to continue, please let us know. Your insights are crucial in determining the future of this initiative. Thank you for your support.

Dear employers and jobseekers,

We regret to announce that we are pausing operations on the JEDI Jobs platform starting this month.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between talented jobseekers from disadvantaged communities and progressive employers prioritizing diversity and inclusion.

Unfortunately, with our dedication and the support from our community, we have not been able to reach the level of traction necessary to sustain our free services. This decision to pause the service has not been easy to make, as we are deeply committed to our purpose.

During this time, we want to request your feedback regarding our platform. If you believe that JEDI Jobs' cause is important and wish to see us continue, please share your thoughts and suggestions here bit.ly/3Yfu7bB . Together, we can work toward a future where diversity and inclusion in the workplace are not just ideals, but realities.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Meet Judith Acosta, our exceptional Internal QA Analyst from Genashtim’s Learning Digitalization department!

Hailing from Quezon City, Philippines, Judith graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from De Los Santos College. Before joining Genashtim, Judith was a training nurse in several local hospitals.

Unfortunately, in February 1996, a tragic vehicular accident left her with a spinal cord injury, causing her to be paralyzed from the waist down. Adapting to life as a paraplegic was daunting for Judith at first. Besides learning to navigate the world in a wheelchair, she had to rely on leg braces and other assistive devices to help with her daily activities. Fortunately, her family and friends were there to support her while she adjusted to her new reality.

Judith's journey with Genashtim began in 2017 when she visited the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) at the Quezon City Hall, seeking home-based job opportunities. There, a former Genashtim employee provided her with a link to the company's website. After reaching out via email, she was hired by Genashtim in March 2018.

Today, she thrives in her role and enjoys a comfortable life with her elderly mother and a dedicated caregiver. She’s proud to live a productive, fulfilling life despite her disability. Judith’s life journey serves as a powerful reminder to us to keep pushing forward despite the obstacles we face and to never lose hope.

Join us in celebrating Judith’s inspiring journey and her invaluable contributions to our team!

No one is perfect. Not every able-bodied person is capable, and not every disabled individual is incapable. We all have our own set of strengths and weaknesses. At Genashtim, we focus on abilities or strengths rather than disabilities or limitations. This is our core principle.

Genashtim began with a visionary – Thomas Ng. Where others saw disability, he saw untapped potential. While serving on the board of directors of a computer school for the blind in Manila, Thomas was inspired by the exceptional computer skills of its visually impaired graduates. Seeing their immense potential, he dedicated himself to securing sustainable, dignified employment for them. Through his relentless persistence and unwavering determination, Genashtim was born.

Today, we celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workforce by hiring persons with disabilities (PWDs) and other disadvantaged individuals because we believe everyone can make a valuable contribution. Join us in redefining what’s possible and creating a more inclusive world!
