Student leaders from both West Spring Secondary School and Zhenghua Secondary School worked together to address key issues in the Zhenghua Town Municipality, through our Blank Space event.

ZHYN, together with social enterprise Air Amber, began the journey for Blank Space on 30th May and 1st June through workshop 1 and 2 respectively with students. They got to brainstorm and develop their ideas better through these workshops. They refined their project and crafted their pitch which was to be delivered to a panel.

These students pitched their ideas on 10th June, from 9am to 12pm at Zhenghua CC MPH. The panel had senior Grassroots Leaders, together with our adviser, Mr Edward Chia, who gave their words of affirmation and comments to the students after their pitch.

We hope to work together with these students into implementing their ideas for a better Zhenghua community.

ZHYN had its recent Clean Up Zhenghua (CUZ) session yesterday, around the blocks of Jelapang. Students from different levels participated in our mass litter picking event, with facilitators from both ZHYN and Greenridge RC. We managed to reduce and properly discard litter, that was spotted around the blocks.

Moreover, we had a short discussion about the insights the students had gained from the event where they shared some possible methods to reduce such litter found in our neighbourhoods.

We would like to thank Greenridge RC for collaborating with us for the event. Do follow our page as there will be another CUZ session upcoming in September.

We had our last YN monthly meeting for the 2nd term on Sunday. We had lunch together, catching up with one another and reminiscing about the events from the past term.

During the meeting, we discussed about the recent events and initiatives, looking at potential ways to improve and continue them moving forward.

On 13th May, we brought 1000 residents from the five divisions collectively with our youth volunteers to Singapore Zoo.

Children who joined in our trip got to explore the zoo and they learnt about the animals with the help of a tool kit prepared by our Zhenghua resident. We appreciate such gestures and look forward to more contributions and suggestions from our residents to improve our future initiatives.

Hi students! Clean Up Zhenghua (CUZ) is back 🙂

Our Green Team of ZHYN would like to invite you to join our Anti-Littering initiative. For this initiative, we are reaching out to students from Primary 5 to Secondary 4, such as you and your friends, to join us in playing a part in keeping our neighbourhood clean.

We will be organising the upcoming CUZ session on 11th June, from 9am to 11.30am, at Greenridge RC (Blocks 501-512). We will be forming up to pick up litter around the area.

This morning, we had our Happy Bus Stop at Blk 506 and 516 bus stops. Together with our adviser, Mr Edward Chia, and Greenridge RC, we spread the Hari Raya joy and gave out Epok Epok. Stay tune for future Happy Bus Stop events!

Hi student leaders! Have you ever had an idea for the community but you could not voice out about it at the right platform? Well, we hear you!

Zhenghua YN will be organising ‘Blank Space’ to build youth-led solutions to address social challenges in the Zhenghua Town Municipality. Air Amber, a social enterprise, will be facilitating this event. We hope that through the programme we enable youths like yourself to conceptualise, create, and pitch impactful community projects.

Powered by National Youth Council, you will attend a series of experiential workshops to equip yourself with the skills and tools needed to uplift communities, rooted in the principles of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD).

Zhenghua YN and Zhenghua-Blossom Palmview RN jointly organised a Board Games event on Feb 26, 2pm to 6pm. We had a wide range of games, which included, but not limited to, Uno Flex, Codenames, Modern Art and etc.

Through this event, we got to meet like-minded people and other residents of Zhenghua, all while enjoying and challenging ourselves through the board games.
