There are many reasons why one would pick up CPR+AED skills.

For this group, it was to fulfil their friend's last wish of being equipped with the knowledge and skills to help save a life. Since Mr Phua's first cardiac arrest, he strongly advocated for CPR+AED training among his friends and family as it had tremendously increased his chances of survival.

Two months after his passing, his close family friends gathered at SHF's HQ to honour his life. Mrs Phua, grieving the loss of her beloved husband, shared, "If (we had) someone else who knew what to do (during the second incident) I think he would still be with us today."

Be a part of the lifesaving force. Learn CPR+AED at https://www.myheart.org.sg/course/cpr-aed-certification-course-blended-learning/.

"After the incident, the doctor did say that if Candy did not do CPR on me, and if I did not receive immediate treatment, I may not have survived."

In April 2023, Mr Phua Boon Keng was having a fun night of karaoke with friends when he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Timely CPR saved his life. Let's bring that number down and put a stop to excuses like laziness, fatigue and lack of time. Plan out your week, grab a buddy, choose activities you like and get your body moving!
