Recently, a customer came to MJ reporting issues with his Land Rover stalling and engine check lighted up on the instrumental cluster.

We diagnosed the fault and found out that there is a misalignment of the camshaft and crankshaft position.

Hence, we used a specific set of engine tools to align the position of the camshaft and crankshaft and replaced the necessary parts with genuine parts!

And off he goes back on the road. 😄

Gearbox overhaul at MJ Automobile

What is gearbox overhaul? In simple terms, this means dismantling all the relevant gearbox parts, and replacing the necessary components to restore working order. Then, assemble the parts back together again. Simple explanation but actually not-so-simple process 🙂

Unsure what those dashboard lights mean?

We have a car owner coming to MJ Automobile with the warning lighted up on the dashboard. Try zooming in to see what is lighted up on the dashboards in Photo 1.

After a cooling system pressure test, we detected the leakage! Look how badly it has leaked in Photo 2.

To maintain the vehicle's quality, we replaced the necessary parts with original parts.
Photo 3 shows how many parts have been replaced. This includes water pump, thermostat and a number of coolant hoses.

Next time if you see unusual icons or text lighted up on your dashboard, get your car checked soonest possible.

🚗 Brake Rotor? Brake Pads? How is it related?

Brakes help to stop a car by pressing the brake pad against the rotor. This friction brings the vehicle to a stop.

🚙 Why do you sometimes need to change disc rotors during a brake pad change?

If new brake pads are put onto a vehicle with damaged rotors, the brake pads will not properly contact the rotor surface, making it harder to stop the vehicle. It can even damage the pad material.

We had a customer who reported smelling gasoline in the car. So, we removed the car's backseats, open the fuel pump entry point and saw so much petrol leakage! ⛽️These petrol should not be there. See the video to witness it yourself 👀

What did MJ do? We replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter (Some clean up of course.) Now the car is functioning good and smelling good! 😍

Don't be overwhelmed by the long word. To put it simply...

Pneumatic Suspension = Air suspension

Air suspension offers many advantages over conventional suspension.

It is more comfortable and allows to have a constant drive while absorbing more effectively the irregularities of the road. It has therefore won over the major car manufacturers including BMW, which has adopted it on all of its SUVs, in particular on the X5 model range.

This BMW X5 at MJ Automobile, was tilted to one side and the drive was not as smooth. These are some of the symptoms of a faulty Pneumatic Suspension. 🚗🚙🚗

Radiator and Coolant - How does it work?

Radiator cools down the coolant so your car would not overheat. So, make sure your radiator maintains a proper level of coolant.

⚠️ Safety Tip ⚠️ Do not open the radiator cap when the vehicle is still hot or if there are signs of overheating. Just give MJ a call or if the vehicle allows, drop by MJ and we will give you the guidance.
