Members from the Goju Ryu Karate Do Association of Singapore traveled to Osaka for the Jitsueikai and All Japan Karate Do Federation Goju Kai (J.K.F. Goju Kai) Kata Seminars, Grading Exercise and the 49th JKF Goju Kai Karate Do Tournament., alongside with our friends from the Jitsuekai Zenshinren Karate Assn. Karate Christchurch and JKF 實英会 Zen Shin Ren H.K. A very fruitful trip for Team Singapore. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Okinawa in 2024.

Goju Ryu Karate Do Association Singapore (GRKAS) Organized a Mass Grading and Kata Seminar on the 26th November 2022 (Saturday) at The Tanjong Pagar Community Club, with more than 100 participants from all Dojos, took part in the Mass Grading and Kata Seminar. 🥋

Yesterday (20th Oct 2022), we had our inauguration training at the Kebun Baru Community Club with our Patron Mr. Henry Kwek (MP for Kebun Baru) gracing the event.
We also held our All Japan Karate Do Federation Goju Kai and Jitsueikai Japan Dan Certificates Presentation to our members who have recently passed their grading exercise with two Shodan recipients participating in their initiation process. Well done everyone! ㊗️🎊🎉🥋🤜🤛✊👊

[Announcement] After 18 great years at the Serangoon CC, we are moving our Honbu Dojo to the Kebun Baru Community Club. Our inauguration training will be held on the 20th Oct 2022 (Thursday) from 6pm to 7:30pm and Black Belt training will be from 8pm to 9:30pm. History of Goju Ryu Karate Do Association Singapore

1968 Goju-ryu karate was introduced in Singapore and classes were conducted at Chinese YMCA in Palmer Road with Sensei H. Maekawaas its first Chief Instructor. Under Sensei Maekawa's instructorship, Singapore national team obtained 1st Runner –up in the Asian Pacific Karate Championship in 1973.

1974 Sensei Horiuchi took over from Sensei Maekawa who returned to Japan. Sensei Horiuchi was credited for training senior black belters to eventually take over from him and upgrading the competition standard to international level.

1987 Organised the first Goju-kai Karatedo International Tournament outside Japan, and is a registered affiliate of All Japan Karatedo Federation Gojukai.

1998 The Metropolitan YMCA decides to phase out Martial Arts in all its programmes. Regrettably, the practitioners were forced to look for greener pastures. Formation of Singapore Scout Goju-ryu Karatedo Club in partnership with the Singapore Scout Association.
