The Significance of Namgyal Pagoda
Since ancient times, pagodas are always a symbol of the body, speech, and mind of the Buddha. If you build a pagoda and venerate it with sincerity, you will achieve an elevated spirituality. The mind will be purified and leads to enlightenment eventually attains the ultimate nirvana. Those who are inspired to relieve from the cyclic existence of birth and death, as well as sentient beings who have no idea of knowing the root cause of ending this chronic cycle and have gone through countless rebirths, should wholeheartedly venerate the pagoda with devotion.
According to the manuscripts retrieved by Chinese Master Xuanzang from India at one thousand four hundred years ago: The Buddha ever demonstrated that the first prototype of a pagoda which was created by folding three monastic robes into a square shape and stacked in tier orderly from large to small. Then finally place an alms bowl upon the monastic robes in capsize position. Having done that, the Buddha pronounced: "Thus the shape of a pagoda!" This marks a milestone for the design of the pagodas that hand down to this day such as the ancient Sanchi Pagoda in India which was built in two thousand two hundred years ago. Similarly, its design is also based on the shape of an alms bowl in capsize position. After Buddhism was introduced to Tibet, surplus elements are added to adore the Pagoda design such as the Buddha's eyes, thirteen Dharma wheels, sun and moon, etc which symbolise the wisdom of the Buddha and teachings of exoteric and esoteric Buddhism.
As Buddhism spread throughout the world, the architectural appearance of pagodas evolved differently due to the culture of different regions. The style of Pagodas is distinguished by their design which can be divided into bowl-shaped pagoda, niche pagoda, wild goose pagoda, column pagoda, roof pagoda, pavilion-style pagoda, three-tiers pagoda, five-tiers pagoda, seven-tiers pagoda, nine-tiers pagoda, thirteen-tiers pagoda, fifteen-tiers pagoda, seventeen-tiers pagoda, thirty seven-tiers pagoda, jewel ornamental pagoda, Lama pagoda, dense eaves pagoda, seamless pagoda and unwalled pagoda, etc. Ever since Buddhism spread to Tibet, the tradition of building pagodas has also emerged in Tibetan areas.
In terms of design, most Tibetan Buddhist pagodas follow the style of the alms bowl-shaped pagoda. Likewise, the Eight Great Caityas, serve as symbolic representations of critical events in the life of Buddha are also integrated into the design of the pagoda, which is commonly known as The Eight Great Stupas in Tibet (also known as the eight Tathagata stupas or the eight Sugata stupas). The eight Great Stupas, although look quite similar in outer appearance, they are quite exquisite and elegant.
Among the eight stupas, the Namgyal Pagoda (also known as Complete Victory Pagoda) also called the stupa of long life, this stupa refers to the Buddha's agreement to prolong his life by three months, after one of his disciples had begged him not to pass into Parinirvana.
The main body of the stupa is characterized by three circular steps, symbolizing the prolongation of the Buddha's life by three months, at the request of his disciples. It commemorates Buddha's victory over the lord of death; therefore, it is called the Namgyal Pagoda or the complete Victory Pagoda.
The Benefits of Offering Pagoda
According to Maha Parinirvana Sutra: At one time, the Buddha told Ananda and the masses: "After my passing on, all sentient beings of heaven and earth who receive my relics with sorrow and joy, shall venerate, worship it by making offerings wholeheartedly will obtain immeasurable merits."
The Buddha followed by saying: "Ananda! If you see the Tathagata's relics is equal in perceiving the Buddha. In perceiving the Buddha, you will realise the Dharma. In the Dharma, there is Sangha. If there is Sangha, you will achieve Nirvana. Ananda! You should know that because of this cause and condition, the triple gems will always abide without variation which serve as a refuge for all sentient beings."
Buddha's Image Construction Sutra" says: "If someone arouse compassion and prostrate to the stupa with folded hands, he will eventually be reborn in the Buddha Land of Ultimate Bliss." The Sutra of the Supreme King says: "Those living beings who make offerings to the relics will be free from the eight calamities in every lifetime and will always encounter the enlightened ones to relieve them from cyclic existence.
This time, H.E. Lhatse Rinpoche Lama has commissioned a batch of Pagoda and consecrated them with five Dharmakaya mantras and precious sacred objects which previously blessed by H.H Penor Rinpoche, H.H Jigme Phuntsok and Akhyuk Rinpoche.
The fortunate ones, this is a rare opportunity! So, hurry to invite a stupa and share this joyous virtues & immeasurable merits to all.
Tashi Delek!
Please contact center at 67424438 if you wish to sponsor the Pagoda. The Pagoda will be offered at SGD$588 .

Dear centre attendees

For 1000 Buddhas of the Fortunate Eons Empowerment on 27/02/2022, due to an insert to the event, we have provided the materials via the link given for download as we cannot trace those who attended on FACEBOOK. The password is the six digit passcode to the ZOOM admission.

For those who made a choice to attend via the FACEBOOK option, I am sure you must have downloaded previous publicity poster and info to make a choice so as to attend yesterday session. Since it is a few hours past the event, hopefully the memories are still fresh.

The download link will be closed by tonight. We will not circulate the password on FB. As with our usual practice, we will not address any technical limitations to accessing the materials which do not fall under our control.

We noted that there are past questions on why we need to password protect the document? The answer is very simple. To sort of mitigate situation of viral sharing, the password serves as a second chance to reconsider thrice if one should proceed so as to protect your samayas. We appreciate your understanding to this one obstacle we put in place because there are alot more we had to overcome at our end.
