ALBA E Drive under Pasir Ris - Punggol Town Council
Want to play a part in sustainability efforts and wondering where to properly recycle Electronic Waste?

Today is the day, come and join us, from 10am – 3pm, as ALBA E-Waste conducts collection drives at selected locations right in our neighborhoods.

Head on down to our E-Drive location nearest to you to drop off your E-Waste - See you there!

Estate Update : Dear Residents, Town Council and I have received reports from our RC and fellow residents that there are multiple sightings of bee swarms and hives in our estates. Do know that TC has immediately deployed to the ground, our pest control team. Our cleaning teams have also been deployed to the ground for more frequent cleanups.

Our initial investigations reveal that these swarms are Giant Honey Bees (Apis Dorsata), also commonly known as the Malayan Honey Bee. This bee is often found in forests or densely planted parks, but may stray into urban areas. Giant Honey Bees forage actively after dusk and are often attracted to artificial light sources. These bees are fairly common in our Singaporean parks and gardens. The swarming is seasonal, and as the bees are normadic, they will often abandon their hives to find a new nesting sites.

TC is actively monitoring the situation, and the reported swarms/ hives have been removed. If you sight the bees, please contact TC on 6590 9500 / [email protected] to have them removed. Please do not remove the swarms/ hives yourself.

TC and my team are also exploring innovations to monitor and alert us of future swarms and we are working with corporate innovation labs on developing these solutions. Together with engineers, we visited affected sites this afternoon, and look forward to working together for the safety of our community.

In collaboration with MSO, we hosted a Cleanliness Activation Workshop yesterday evening on 19 June 2024, to facilitate discussions on how we can better improve cleanliness from the ground-up in Punggol Coast estate.

A big thank you to MSO for their invaluable support, and to Punggol Waterway Sunrise I RN and Punggol Link RN for their enthusiastic participation. We hope the workshop was fruitful and will aid in future initiatives to address municipal issues around our town.

𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝟐𝟑𝟐𝐂 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐞

Last Sunday Evening, (2 June) at 9:15 PM, a fire originating from a Power Assisted Bicycle (PAB) battery occurred in a residential unit at 232C Sumang Lane. The occupant successfully extinguished the fire.

As of yesterday morning on 3rd June, our conservancy workers have cleaned up the debris and soot resulting from the fire along the common corridor.

We would like to remind residents not to leave batteries or mobility devices charging unattended for extended periods, as this can pose a fire risk.

To ensure the safety of our residents, the Town Council will increase patrols in the block to inspect corridors for parked mobility devices and advise residents accordingly.

Our thoughts are with the resident affected by the fire, who is currently hospitalised.
