Walk for Our Children 2023 👣🎉 It feels incredibly surreal that the event is over! Can you spot yourselves in the video? If you didn’t make it to our event this year, here’s an overview of what happened on 30 September at Palawan Green, Sentosa. We kick-started the event with a 2km fun walk, and hosted a carnival with booths, inflatables, and live performances throughout the morning. It was a day where participants forged priceless memories under the sun (and occasional rain) with endless laughter and good company! What a blast from the past! 🚀 Bet you didn’t know we have been walking for our children since the early 90’s! Established in 1952, our goal is to protect and nurture children, youth, and families in need. We’re dedicated to adapting and evolving to meet the changing needs of our beneficiaries the best way we can 💪 👣 An example would be how we switched Walk for Our Children to virtual edition the last 2 years due to the pandemic. It wasn’t an easy feat, but we were determined to power through the storm. Fast forward to this year – We’re back with our PHYSICAL event on 30 September at Palawan Green, Sentosa! It's finally happening this Saturday! The carnival is open to all & you can buy the carnival coupons on-site. Come join the fun and our journey to make the lives of our beneficiaries a brighter one. Madam Suraiyah
Sharing an inspirational story by our long-serving volunteer of 21 years, Madam Suraiyah. Driven by her love and passion, she has been volunteering for the Vulnerable Witness Support Programme (VWSP) where she finds joy and satisfaction while accompanying the beneficiaries for court hearings. "Whenever I handle a new case, I feel that I am learning. It is always about learning how the children grow and the way they behave and react." Here’s what went down during a recent trip to Jakarta by our youth, Anders and Ray, together with our staff Joses from 7-10 July! They participated in the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR)‘s dialogue where they discussed the right to a safe, clean, and sustainable environment 🌎, as well as how children can be engaged in various AICHR programmes and activities 🤝.
