When the Lord is our shepherd, we will find rest. His goodness and mercy will pursue us all the days of our lives, if we make it personal with Him.

When we are tired - whether physically, mentally or spiritually - it is hard to think that God is there with us; but He has assured us He will never forsake us.

If you are unsure, come and be assured as Rev Ming tells us God Cares for the Tired, in her sermon tomorrow.

It might be the final Sunday of our God Cares sermon series, but His love and care will continue eternally.

This year, to celebrate our 54th anniversary, we will be bringing back Have A Meal On Us.

As the name implies, we will bless the Toa Payoh community by paying forward meals at 50 food stalls in Toa Payoh Central. Each food stall will have 100 meals claimable, making it a total of 5,000 meals for those around us.

You can join us in sharing God's love and providence by chipping in to the $25,000 required to fund this project. Donations are via our usual Paynow/Paylah e-giving, and by indicating "HAMOU2024" in the reference column. Any excess collected will go to our General Fund.

Let's bless others generously with what God has given us.

Trust God.
Fight or flight, He will save you because God Cares for the Bullied.

We are almost midway through 2024. Have you been staying true to the things you said you wanted to do this year, and walking closer to God?

If you have, persevere; and He will carry you through. If not, then seek His strength and guidance to get back on course.

We hope our monthly and daily devotionals help you remain in Christ and grow in His likeness.

Our God is a caring and loving God. He cares for us in many ways.

We have learnt He cares for the brokenhearted and the overwhelmed. This Sunday, Rev Zhihui will tell us how God Cares for the Bullied, in the continuation of the current God Cares sermon series.

We welcome everyone to join us for our 8.30am or 10.30am services.

The boys and girls from our 10th and 76J Boys' Brigade Companies, as well as 16th P Girls' Brigade Company, had their Enrolment Service in our church yesterday.

It was a joy to see them in their uniform and making their commitment to the Brigades. This year, God gave us a bumper crop of more than 25 boys and girls for us to guide and nurture into Godly young men and women.

We thank God for this, and ask for His blessings to be upon them.

God Cares for the Overwhelmed.

He meets us where we are,
but He doesn't leave us as we are.

Last Sunday, we learnt how God Cares for the Brokenhearted, as Rev Benjamin kicked off our sermon series on God Cares.

Tomorrow, we will hear how God Cares for the Overwhelmed, from one of our staff and local preachers, Ms Sarah Lim.

There will be the Boys' Brigades and Girls' Brigade Enrolment Service during the 8.30am service, and a large part of the Courtyard will be used for the awards ceremony after that. So expect a cosier-than-usual ambience at the Courtyard in between the services, as we gather there.

Today is Pentecost Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles after Jesus' resurrection.

And the Holy Spirit is present with us till today, even when we are brokenhearted. That is Rev Benjamin's reminder to us today as he begins our new sermon series on God Cares.

16/05/2024

One of our Young Adults Connect Groups gave you a teaser of its missions trip to Batam last week. This week, we have youths from two different youths missions trips - Team Chiang Mai and Team Phrao - bantering about mookata.

Look out for the full video featuring these missions trippers.

Two Sundays ago, Rev Zhihui used Job as the focus for his sermon on Integrity in Suffering.

The story of Job is an intriguing one that often raises many questions. Join us at 1pm this Sunday as we come together to discuss the queries you might have about Job, and to delve deeper into his story and experience.

Registration is not required but we appreciate it if you could do so to allow us to make appropriate arrangements for this session. You can do so under Events & Courses on our website, or use this link: https://tpmc.org.sg/

Jesus told His disciples to have a servanthood attitude. The church is Christ’s body and the primary care of His followers, but He also meant for us to care for those outside the church.

The key thing to have is the heart of a servant. Humbling ourselves and putting the needs of others in church before our own is essential, but we also need to carry this into areas of our lives outside the church. Only then can others see Christ living in us.

Learn how some of our church members serve the community, their families and at their workplaces, in the Walking with God page under the Media & Resources tab on our website, or at this URL:https://tpmc.org.sg/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Website-Article-2-Serving-Final.pdf

Today, Rev Zhihui pointed out three reflections from John 19:25-27.

A word for mothers: Christian motherhood is a great and weighty calling from God. Seek God's will for your child, not impose your own.

A word for children: Honour your father and mother.

A word for the church: The church is the family of God in Christ, called to love one another. Love her as our mother; seek her well-being, peace, and unity.

This Mother's Day, let us remember to thank and honour all the mothers in our faith community.

12/05/2024

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers and grandmothers!

11/05/2024

Our scheduled guest preacher Dr Cheah Fung Fong is unable to be with us tomorrow, so Rev Zhihui will be speaking to us instead. His Mother's Day sermon is on Jesus and His Mother.

The mothers and grandmothers in our Courtyard Connections team will be getting a well-deserved break tomorrow, so there won't be any coffee or tea at the Courtyard after services. Let's all treat our mothers to a good lunch instead.

So, what happens during a missions trip, apart from blessing the community there and bringing them God's love and joy? Well, missions trippers also get to see God at work, smoothing out the hiccups on their trip, and enjoy yummy local delights.

Our youth and young adult groups will share their (funny) experiences with you over videos.

Here's a teaser on what you can expect.

You can find out more about this year's missions trips in the Outreach tab under Get Involved on our website. https://tpmc.org.sg/trips-2024/

We had part 2 of our Ministry Celebrations on Sunday, and what fun it was! Our Edify and Extend huddles had everyone playing games and doing activities to earn their muffins and ice cream. Of course, through these they learnt about the ministries under these two huddles.

That ends our Ministry Celebrations, but we do not stop celebrating the excellent work of the people serving in the ministries.

Thank you, and may God bless each one of you.

In the concluding Sunday of our sermon series on Integrity, we learn from Job how to maintain our integrity even in suffering.

Photos from Toa Payoh Methodist Church's post 04/05/2024

It is often hardest to maintain our integrity when we are facing difficulties or suffering. Tomorrow, Rev Zhi-Hui will share with us what God's word says about this as he gives us his sermon on TPMC Values Integrity In Suffering. This will conclude our current sermon series on HIGHER Values Integrity.

Tomorrow is also the second, and final, Sunday of our Ministry Celebrations. Go to the Courtyard after our services to find out, through fun and games, how the Edify and Extend huddles support the work of our church. There will be a free Udders ice cream or a yummy muffin, for each participant who completes some very simple tasks, so don't miss it.

See you tomorrow!

Happy Labour Day.

Today, we recognise the efforts of all workers, which will mean a large majority of us. This public holiday has its roots in commemorating the struggles and gains made by workers and the labour movement.

As we take our rest, let us not forget the One who has been labouring hard for us. The One who never rests or slumbers, and is always there when we need Him.

May this devotion guide you in knowing how He leads us and works in our lives.

Thank you God.

29/04/2024

Our church cannot function without the service and efforts of our people, because we are all members of the same body. Which is why we want to recognise and honour the work of those who help our church do God's work and further His kingdom, through our Ministry Celebrations Sunday.

We started with the Evangelise and Energise huddles yesterday. The Worship and Music Ministry blessed us with musical and dance offerings in the Courtyard, while the ladies from Courtyard Connections served us their tasty bakes along with coffee and tea. We also hopped back in time through the old photos and Interact magazine displayed by the Communications & Media team, and learnt how both the Security Ministry and Floral Ministry improve the safety and ambience of our services every Sunday.

Next Sunday, we'll have the second part of our celebration as the ministries from the Edify and Extend huddles continue to bring us fun activities and games to help us learn more about the work they do to Serve One Another.

One of the HIGHER values of Toa Payoh Methodist Church is Integrity. Learning from the example of Saul, Rev Ming highlighted five red flags that might indicate our walk is not consistent with our talk.

Photos from Toa Payoh Methodist Church's post 27/04/2024

We hope you have had a blessed week, and have been practising what we have learnt about integrity from the last two Sundays.

Tomorrow, Rev Ming will add on to our current sermon series by telling us about Integrity That Is Consistent. Come and hear her share God's message.

After the service, you can go to the Courtyard to take part in our Ministry Celebrations. The Evangelise and Energise huddles will be putting up displays, games and activities to showcase the work they do to contribute to the mission of the church.

Sounds like the makings of a good Sunday morning! See you in church.

On Sunday, we welcomed several brothers and sisters into God's and our church's families.

Congratulations to those who were baptised that day, you have taken the step to commit yourselves and your lives to Jesus. Also, a big welcome to those who joined Toa Payoh Methodist Church's membership.

May God continue to pour out His blessings and Spirit to you as He watches over you every day. Remain in the Lord, and bear fruit for His Kingdom.

Integrity In Walking Right With God means not trying to hide a wrong, even if it means facing God's justice.

As God shows us our wrongdoing, we need to respond with contrition, seeking His forgiveness for God is merciful and will give us new strength to walk before Him with integrity and uprightness.

Photos from Toa Payoh Methodist Church's post 20/04/2024

Reverend Zhihui will be continuing our sermon series on Integrity tomorrow. He will be sharing with us God's message on Walking Right With God.

A number of our brothers- and sisters-in-Christ will be taking that step to walk rightly with God by being baptised at tomorrow's 10.30am service. We congratulate them, and welcome them as well as those being received into membership into our church.

Do join us in affirming and welcoming them into the family tomorrow.
