As registration date draws closer for the 2023 presidential and general elections which is a prerequisite for one to be eligible for voting, the *Kuranko All stars* is calling on all peace loving Sierra Leoneans of voting age to come out and register with the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone from *September 3rd to October 4th 2022.*

It is imperative to mention that peace is essential for our country as it provides hope for a better future, particularly for the youth of our society, who are the true ambassadors of the future. Sooner than later, the political whistle will blow for political actors to start selling out their manifesto and intentions to the electorates. While we go about with campaigns, it is vital to know and understand that elections are transformative tools for democratic governance, which serves as an essential means through which people voice their preferences and choose their representatives.

As citizens, we must not overlook the importance of incorporating peace and stability in our mindsets during the campaign process.
History has taught us that those elections that are fuelled by violence, do not achieve the desired democratic outcome we all strive towards in terms of creating opportunities for national development.

In the last few years, the building blocks of national cohesion and the feeling of belonging of all citizens have gravely been crumbled by tribalism and regionalism which have all been and continue to be key contributing factors to our underdevelopment and slow progress as a nation. This is the time we must stand up as sons and daughters of Koinadugu and Falaba districts and be an epitome of peace and national cohesion by saying *NO* to *tribalism*, *regionalism* and any form of *election violence* before, during and after elections.
