On Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18, JCI Unify organized an Investment Training Program.
The sessions consisted of a 'Personal Finance' part by Past President Diego Ameerali. He equipped the participants with essential tools and knowledge. Additionally, the program covered 'Financial Planning and Analysis' by Past Officer Jason Hoppie, highlighting its key components and significance.
The second part of the program was a virtual session titled โInvestment Talk,โ where trainers Chanelle Rellum and Ivannia Dragtenstein discussed investment opportunities in Suriname and emphasized the importance of investing.๐ธ๐ท
We extend our best wishes to the participants for their future financial endeavors.๐

JCI Unify and JCI Urban Public Speaking and Debating Program๐ค
The program kicked off with a series of online training sessions held on August 14th and 15th, where participants had the opportunity to receive tips and tricks to improve their skills in public speaking and debating. The trainers of these sessions were:
- Vanessa Zeefuik from AA2 Consultancy & Training, who provided valuable insights into the art of public speaking.
- Past President Diego Ameerali, who shared tips and tricks on writing impactful speeches.
- Immediate Past National President Derrick Boldewijn shared his knowledge and expertise on debating.
As the project progresses, the second phase will include in-person practice sessions, allowing participants to apply what they've learned in a more interactive setting. These face-to-face sessions will be crucial in refining their abilities and building confidence as JCI leaders.
๐ฏ| The goal of this project is to equip both members and observers from both chapters with essential knowledge and skills in public speaking and debating. By the end of the program, participants will be well-prepared to compete in the JCI Suriname National Speaking & Debating Competition in October.

On July 27th, JCI Unify hosted their Observers Day at ASFA. This event was designed to motivate observers to successfully complete their observer journey and to connect them with mentors to guide them to become members of the organization. The day featured various presentations delivered by fellows and board members, highlighting diverse experiences.
The following presentations were given:

"What JCI Means to You and What I Mean to JCI," along with an explanation of the Broki Form, presented by Local Secretary Isaura Tholen.

"The Directorโs Journey," presented by Director Zippora Oosterling and Director Amiรซnsha Touwslager.

"The Observerโs Journey and the Conference of the Americas," presented by Fellow Tahira Rommy and Director Nicole Setropawiro.
We hope the observers gained valuable insights from this session and are better equipped to successfully complete their observer journey. We look forward to welcoming them soon as fellows of JCI Unify. ๐ชโจ

Part 2 โPlant a Treeโ project
One Green Step to Making a Sustainable Difference! ๐ฑ
On Saturday, July 13, 2024, JCI Unify successfully executed its โPlant a Treeโ project, under the leadership of Director Zippora Oosterling, in collaboration with Elim van de Heer orphanage and SPESUR.
The project was efficiently coordinated by Vice President Internal Mitchel Monsels, who provided clear instructions that were diligently followed. The primary objective was to establish a vegetable garden with the children, enabling the orphanage to become self-sufficient in its vegetable needs.
The dayโs activities included laying out garden beds and planting vegetable seedlings, with the children displaying great enthusiasm.๐
During the break, the kids and Fellows enjoyed delicious snacks provided by Sun Ice and refreshed themselves with purified water from Zenobia Bottling.
This project equipped the children with valuable skills to create and maintain their own gardens.โ๏ธ
