hebben de viering tesamen met de Besturen en Atleten van onze 17 Olympische Sportbonden en Sportvrienden tot een onvergetelijke gemaakt.💖💝.

Hun opmerkelijke prestaties zijn een bewijs van atletische uitmuntendheid en de verenigende kracht van sport. We zijn enthousiast om getuige te zijn van hun ongelooflijke optredens en de inspiratie die ze de wereld brengen.

We zijn ook heel blij dat Brian Kliwon, een gerenommeerde scheidsrechter van de Badminton Wereldfederatie (BWF), voor Suriname zijn debuut zal maken als scheidsrechter op de Paralympische Spelen van Parijs 2024. Dit markeert een belangrijke mijlpaal in zijn carrière en een belangrijk moment voor de sport.

We’re also thrilled that for Suriname Brian Kliwon, a renowned Badminton World Federation (BWF) Umpire, will be making his debut as a referee at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. This marks a significant milestone in his career and an important moment for the sport.

SAVE THE DATE! On Tuesday 27th August, we have a special event:
the inauguration of the Alliance Française Suriname movie room to « Salle Letitia Vriesde, » honoring the most titled athlete of Suriname so far. Letitia herself will be on site to inaugurate the room. Walk in time: 5:00 pm / 17:00

This event is part of the "Equality in sports program" of the Relay Around the world from March 2024, during which Paris chose 12 projects around the world to value female athletes. We are very honored to have been chosen among many submissions.

In preparation for the Paralympics, which start the following day on August 28. and after the inauguration of the movie room, we'll show a French movie called "Tout le monde debout" ("Rolling to you" in English") Start of the movie: 6:45 pm / 18:45

To round off the evening, you'll have the chance to stay in our Bistrot and eat French dishes or snacks, and/or enjoy a glass of wine - French, of course! 🇫🇷

RESERVEZ LA DATE ! Le mardi 27 août, nous avons un événement spécial :
l'inauguration de la salle de cinéma de l'Alliance Française du Suriname à la « Salle Letitia Vriesde », en l'honneur de l'athlète la plus titrée du Suriname à ce jour. Letitia elle-même sera présente pour inaugurer la salle. Début: 17:00

Cet événement s'inscrit dans le cadre du programme « Égalité dans le sport » du Relais autour du monde de mars 2024, au cours duquel Paris a choisi 12 projets à travers le monde pour valoriser les athlètes féminines. Nous sommes très honorés d'avoir été choisis parmi de nombreuses candidatures.

En préparation des Jeux Paralympiques qui débuteront le lendemain 28 août et après l'inauguration de la salle de cinéma, nous projetterons un film français intitulé « Tout le monde debout » Début du film prévu à 18:45.

Pour terminer la soirée, vous aurez la possibilité de rester dans notre Bistrot et de manger des plats ou des en-cas français, et/ou de déguster un verre de vin - français, bien sûr ! 🇫🇷

Tatoeage met olympische ringen kan leiden tot diskwalificatie tijdens Paralympics: symbool van evenement is reclame | Olympische Spelen 2024

Op 28 augustus starten de Paralympische Spelen in Parijs, maar de kans dat je er – net zoals op de Olympische Spelen – atleten met een tatoeage van de olympische ringen zal zien, is zo goed als nihil. Dat heeft alles te maken met een bizarre regel.

They were created in 1913 by Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympic Games.
They represent the union of the five inhabited continents:
Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
The colors, along with the white background of the Olympic flag, were chosen because at least one of these colors appears on all the national flags of the world.
The meaning is said to be:
"Blue" ring: represents Europe.
"Yellow" ring: represents Asia.
"Black" ring: means Africa.
"Green" ring: represents Oceania.
"Red" ring: symbolizes America.
