Dragwars 3.0 Update!

M-Speed Racing has safely returned to home base after a grueling 30-hour road trip. We wanted to give you an official update.

Despite a rain-out during this spectacular event, we had the chance to make a few runs on South Dakota’s drag strip with our corn-fed, boosted K20 MR2, piloted by Juan Refos.

During qualifying, we managed to put down a conservative pass on a low-power tune due to the slippery track, resulting in a 10.4-second run. We were paired with fellow Surinamese drag racer Michael Namchand, who faced difficulties on the slippery track with his phenomenal red 2JZ-GTE-powered Supra.

Shortly after, the race was officially canceled due to heavy rain and lightning strikes which also resulted in damaging the timing system.
After speaking with GMRC’s vice president, Mr. Shairaz, who confirmed the cancellation, we decided to pack up and leave since the faster classes couldn't safely run their respective brackets.

To our surprise, we later saw posts on social media claiming the MR2 had won its 10-second class.
While it’s not common practice to award prizes based on incomplete qualifying runs, the event host may apply this rule to award winners with the fastest qualifying times in their classes.

We were about to post a message thanking everyone for the gesture but expressing our preference to have the award (trophy and title) available for the next race, as we didn't feel right accepting a win without a proper race.

As we were heading home, we received another update, this time from the GMRC stating that their timekeeper had made a mistake and there was actually a faster qualifier by 0.2 seconds.

Relieved yet still confused, this trip was full of great memories and adventure.

Unfortunately during the test trials, heavy rain significantly spoiled the track.
Tomorrow, we're hoping for better conditions and plan to make the best of it.

Na bijkans een jaar terug de moped dynamometer te hebben gebouwd, hebben we onlangs de draad weer kunnen oppakken met onze 2 smoker missie.
Dit is dan de bijzondere wereld van 2 takt brommer motoren zo efficiënt mogelijk te kunnen afstellen met behulp van zowel de oeroude techniek van de cylinder als de uitlaat met beschikbare digitale mogelijkheden.

Gekozen werd om binnen een week een complete dragscoot te bouwen om vervolgens mee te doen in de snelle Extreme bikes

Onze eerste bijdrage aan de moped racing community in Suriname is het het bouwen van een inertia dynamometer. Deze zal gelegenheid bieden om verschillende data te monitoren waaronder , uitlaat / cylinder kop / inlaat temperatuur, krukas revoluties per minuut, uitlaatgas gehalte, onstekingstijdstip , koppel , paardenkracht etc.
Zeker geen toverstokje maar hopelijk zal het deze tak van sport kunnen helpen ontwikkelen.
