There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn to not judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.

The second son said no – it was covered with green buds and full of promise.
The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but one season in the tree’s life.

Moral Story
He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are – and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life – can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfilment of your fall.
Don’t judge a life by one difficult season. Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

Sultan Ngor Ater Finally laid to rest in Matiel

The renowned Paramount Chief and the longest-served chief in Apuk Giir Thiik Community of Warrap State, the Late Moris Ngor Ater Wol aka Ngor- Manyang on Monday laid to rest in his home village - Matiel of Buoyar Section.

The chief died at 80 years old on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi Kenya of what has been described as "rhinovirus" - the virus which can spread through droplets in the air when someone who is sick coughs, sneezes or talks.

Attending the burial in Matiel, Aleu Ayieny Aleu on behalf of the Government of Warrap State as the Governor attended the funeral along with some of his cabinets meanwhile Maluach Lueth Luach, Commissioner of Gogrial East presents himself on behalf of the County Government.

Among other important dignitaries were Salva Mathok Gengdit, the elder of Apuk Community and MP representing Gogrial East in R-TNLA through SPLM ticket, Athian Diing Athian, former National Minister of Finance and Planning, Makiir G*i Thiep, Aguok Kuei Community Leader and Business Man, Victor Atem Atem, former Governor of Defunct Gogrial State among others.

The Thousands of Mourners availed themselves to witness the burial of their famous Paramount chief.

Late Moris Ngor became chief of the Buoyar Section in 1973 after the death of his father, Sultan Ater Wol who was shot by Arab soldiers, one year later after the Addis Ababa Agreement of 1972. He became the chief one year before the death of the Late Sultan Giir Thiik Riiny popularly known as Giir-Mangar or Giir Aheclei, whom Apuuk rated as "the founding father of Apuk Giir Thiik."

Sultan Ngor went to School in Luonyaker, Kuajok, Tonj, Wau and Juba in the 1940s. He rebelled against the Sudan government in 1964.

He also helped form Mayen Rual Market - the famous market in Warrap State during the SPLA liberation wartime.

According to Apuk elders, he is the longest-serving chief in the history of Apuk.

Long-time ago in the Animal Kingdom, a sheep was passing and saw a lion crying inside a cage trapped and the lion begged the sheep to save him with a promise not to kill and eat it but the sheep refused. After much persuasion and for the sheep's gullibility it opened the cage for the lion.

Now the lion was very hungry having stayed in the cage for days without food. It quickly grabbed the sheep to kill and eat but the sheep reminded him of his promise. They were still there arguing when other animals came passing and they sought to know what happened. Both the lion and the sheep narrated their own side of the story but because of fear and in trying to gain Favour in the sight of the lion, all the animals took side with the lion except the Tortoise who claim not to understand the whole scenario.

Now the Tortoise asked the lion to show them where he was before the sheep rescued him, he pointed at the cage. He asked again, "were you inside or outside when the sheep arrived"? The lion said he was inside. The tortoise again said, "ok, enter let’s see how difficult it could be inside". The lion entered and the tortoise locked him back inside.

In amazement, the other animals asked tortoise "why" and he replied "if we allow him to eat the sheep today, he will still go hungry tomorrow and we don't know the next amongst us to be eaten tomorrow.

The Moral of this tale
*Don't support evil today because it doesn't affect you directly, tomorrow it could be your turn.

A dying old man said to his doctor while on the sick bed " Doctor, don’t worry. I know I am going to die. I didn’t want to come here but they brought me here.
Please don’t worry about me, look at my hair, they are gone. I am so old but you are so young. I have learnt a lot from life, if you don’t mind I will tell you some of them before I die.
When I was 4 years, I use to think the world is about me. When I turned 14, I wanted to rule the world. I thought I would be the greatest man that ever lived. When I was 21, I wanted to be the richest man, when I was 25, I wanted to find love, when I was 40, I wanted to be helpful to everyone. Now that I am here, I want to die. You see, I wanted so many things at so many times. Most importantly, I wanted to be happy. I thought the best way to be happy is to listen to others.
When I wanted to enter the University, I wanted to study Zoology but everyone said I should study Engineering that I will be a great Engineer. So I listened to them. I had no one to pay my fees, I had to work and also pay my fees. In my third year, I couldn’t cope with my studies, I had to drop. When I dropped, the same people told me "you should have studied Zoology"!
When I turned 28, everyone said I should marry. That I needed a wife. So I listened to them, I got married. 6 years into the marriage, I caught my wife sleeping with my neighbour. I asked her why and she slapped me. I was angry and didn’t say anything. The next day I returned from work, she had run away with my children, now I am dying a lonely man.
At 40, I got a huge contract. My name was in the news. The next day, all my friends and families were at my house, everyone had a serious problem. Within one week, I spent all the money on them with the promise that they will pay back. I could not complete the contract because they refused to return the money as promised. So I was sent to jail for 6 years. I stayed in jail and I came out. When I came out, they were nowhere.
There was one mistake I made through all this time. Now it is clear to me. Let me tell you about it. I refused to listen to myself. I ignored my own self and listen to others. Now that I am here the only person that is with me is myself.
You see, it is very good to listen to others. It is very wise to seek advice from others. But it is very dangerous to ignore your own self. It is very very dangerous to refuse to pay attention to your heart.
When you get home this night, sit down, take a glass of water. Close your eyes if you want or open it if you want, then talk to yourself, reason with yourself. You can walk down the road alone and as you walk, begin to talk to yourself.
The only person that can overrule yourself is God, after God, listen to yourself next. I know it may not make sense to you now but always remember I told you LEARN TO LISTEN TO YOURSELF.

My wife was sleeping next to me... and all of a sudden I got a Facebook notification, and a woman asked me to add her. So I added her.

I accepted the friend request and sent a message asking, "Do we know each other?"
She replied: "I heard you got married but I still love you." 😧

She was a friend from the past. She looked very beautiful in the picture.

I closed the chat and looked at my wife, she was sleeping soundly after her exhausting day of work.

Looking at her, I was thinking about how she feels so safe that she can sleep so comfortably in a completely new home with me.

She is far from her parents' house, where she spent 24 hours surrounded by her family. When she was upset or sad, her mother was there so she could cry in her lap. Her sister or brother would tell jokes and make her laugh. Her father would come home and bring her everything she liked and still, she placed so much trust in me.

All these thoughts came to mind, so I picked up the phone and pressed "BLOCK".

I turned to her and slept next to her.

I am a man, not a child. I have sworn to be faithful to her and so it will be. I will fight forever to be a man who doesn't cheat on his wife and tear a family apart...

Rapper Hot Dog's family appeals to public to help them cover hospital bills

Rapper Hot Dog is admitted at Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya after he was diagnosed with brain tumor that needs urgently operation.

According to Angok Atiep aka Tripple A, a cousin to the rapper, Hot Dog has been ailing for weeks that left the left side of body paralysed.

"Rapper Hot Dog has been suffering for weeks now. We brought him to Nairobi and now the family is overwhelmed with medical bills. So, we appeal to his fans, friends, and well-wishers to contribute whatever small they can to cover the bills," Tripple A said.

According to family member, Hot Dog famed for his song, ‘Tuk De Ming’ was supposed to travel to Canada for medical attention but due to lengthy process of getting him to Canada, the family opted to have him treated in Nairobi.
