🇨🇳 It was a pleasure to join the visit from students of the Yunnan Around Asia International Education Center (YAAE), Kunming, China, to Chulalongkorn University! 🌟 As one of the Top 5 universities they collaborate with in Thailand, Chula is proud to be part of their educational journey.

Supported by Chula OIA, our CSII team had the chance to share insights into BAScii program, with Dr. Ning Li and Ms. Daria Dmitrieva leading a dynamic session about what we offer and answering students' questions.

We were impressed by the curiosity and enthusiasm of the YAAE students!
With potential future collaborations discussed with YAAE Director Ma Chi, we look forward to seeing some of these bright minds joining our BAScii program soon 🌏

Growing Impact together with Chaipattana Foundation 🌿

On Tuesday, September 3, our BAScii students and CSII members had the opportunity to visit the Chaipattana Foundation, a place of sustainable agricultural initiatives.
This visit wasn’t just about observing; it was about rolling up our sleeves and preparing to contribute to something bigger.

BAScii Year 1 Social Innovation Lab students will be applying their skills to modernize the site, transforming it into a vibrant learning hub, tourism spot, and family destination. By tackling real-world challenges, our students are not just learning - they're making a difference.

A 'Family' of Innovators Shaping the Future Together 🤝🏼

On September 2, the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) and the Sasin School of Management came together for a collaborative meeting at Sasin. Much like siblings growing up in the same household, both Schools share a deep-rooted connection, united by a common vision for the future of education.

As we sat around the table, it was clear that our paths, though unique, are intertwined - each School offering strengths that complement the other.

Just as siblings support one another in their individual journeys, CSII and Sasin are committed to working hand in hand, nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators who will shape the world of tomorrow.

At the BAScii Program, we’re thrilled to welcome students from around the world, whether they’re joining us for the full 4-year journey or through our vibrant exchange opportunities. Our community of students from Indonesia is growing each year and we are committed to supporting their journey as they thrive at Chulalongkorn University!

🌍 Empowering Global Citizens through Innovation 🌍

Chulalongkorn University, through the Office of International Affairs and Global Network (Chula OIA) and CSII: Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation - BAScii Program, in collaboration with the United Nations, co-organized the Social Innovation Pitching Competition as part of the APRU SDG Education for Global Citizenship Program 2024 (APRU SDG4GC) on August 30, 2024. This event brought together students and experts from around the world to present innovative solutions addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We’re proud to share that our very own Dr. Suchada Sukrong, Executive Director of CSII, and Dr. Ronnakorn Vaiyavuth, CSII Faculty Member, were part of the esteemed committee of experts for this event. Dr. Suchada also delivered an inspiring speech following the address by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, emphasizing the role of education in driving sustainable change.

At CSII, we are committed to integrating research, innovation, and education at the core of our mission. Events like APRU SDG4GC align with our goal to foster entrepreneurs and startups with a societal impact. As we continue to strive towards becoming a Launchpad for future leaders, we focus on developing individuals who can thrive in an ever-changing world.

✨ BAScii students explore the future at FuturistFest 2024 x NASA! 🚀

A big thank you to Jirayut (Topp) Srupsrisopa, Founder and Group CEO of Bitkub, for sharing his insights on the importance of contributive strategy—an approach that creates value not just for the company or its shareholders, but also for the broader ecosystem and society as a whole. K. Topp also encouraged students to apply for internship opportunities at Bitkub, one of CSII's official industry partners.

Students were also inspired to look for opportunities all around and 'reach for the stars.' 🌠 We were joined by Matthew Lertsmitivanta, a former Data Science NASA Intern, who shared his journey and provided a detailed guide on how to secure a NASA internship.

💡 The Mentoring Engine: Driving Innovation and Scale-Up Success with Coach, Cash, Connect

On August 8, 2024, Associate Professor Natcha Thawesaengskulthai, PhD, a Board Member of CSII, had the honor of delivering a keynote speech at the “Techsauce Global Summit 2024” under the theme “The World of Tomorrow with AI,” held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

In her keynote, Associate Professor Natcha highlighted the crucial role of a Mentoring System in reducing risks for startups, facilitating successful fundraising, and driving business expansion to create a sustainable economy and society.

This initiative is the result of collaborative research with partners from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), including the National Innovation Agency (NIA), the National Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), and Chulalongkorn University's Center for Academic Services. The goal is to develop and test an Innovation Business Mentoring Operating Model to support the rapid growth of innovation-based businesses in Thailand, build a Mentorship Network to foster this growth, and formulate policy recommendations to ensure the continuity of this support system.

Chulalongkorn University Celebrates His Majesty the King’s 72nd Birthday
On July 26, 2024, Chulalongkorn University held a celebratory event in honor of His Majesty the King’s auspicious 72nd birthday on July 28, 2024, at the Chulalongkorn University Auditorium. The event was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, President of the Chulalongkorn University Council. Acting President, Professor Wilert Puriwat, D.Phil. (Oxon), read a speech paying tribute and extending blessings to His Majesty. The ceremony was attended by council members, university administrators, faculty members, staff, alumni representatives, and current students who participated in various activities.
Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation was represented by Executive Director, Professor Suchada Sukrong, Ph.D., Director of Administrative Affairs, Dr. Pakjira Leelertphan, and Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Warinya Chemnasiri. They participated in an almsgiving ceremony to 73 monks, dedicating the merit to His Majesty. The ceremony took place around the flagpole area in front of the university auditorium.

Prof. Pharm. Lt. Col. Dr. Suchada Sukrong, Executive Director of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation, delivered a special talk titled "From Innovator to CEO" at Mahidol Wittayanusorn School on July 5, 2024. Her lecture served to further inspire students’ research and interest in learning science🔬

Dr. Suchada shared her own journey, transitioning from a successful academic career as a Professor to becoming the CEO of a startup company. Despite her academic achievements, she sought a new challenge and ventured into the business world. Dr. Suchada further emphasized the importance of translating research into tangible products, using her own company's development of the PhytFoon spray as a case study. This innovative product tackles the issue of PM2.5 dust pollution, showcasing the entire innovation cycle – from initial research to market launch and ongoing development.

Dr. Suchada's lecture wasn't just about her experiences; it offered valuable guidance on company management from a CEO's perspective. Her insights inspired students to set ambitious goals and pursue meaningful aspirations in their own careers.
