Dear Casey, thank you so much for your kind review and for supporting our shop during this challenging time! 🙏 We're thrilled that you enjoyed your experience, starting with the foot massage, then the full body massage with coconut oil, and even booking a massage for the next day—this means the world to us! Jan and the entire team always strive to provide the best service possible, and it's wonderful to hear you were pleased. 😊 As for the flood, we believe every setback brings new opportunities. Our shop has been beautifully renovated and is now better than ever! Looking forward to welcoming you again soon. ❤️

Dear Friends,

Over the past two days, we've been touched by the kindness of volunteers who have offered their time and skills to help us recover. One person cleaned our windows, another replaced our wooden doors without charging us (though we offered to pay!), and a third helped remove sandbags. We are truly grateful for this generous support!

If you'd like to lend a hand, the best way is simply to visit us and use our services! By choosing our services, you're directly contributing to local recovery efforts.

𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬,

We’re excited to announce that our massage parlor will be open on October 9, and we can’t wait to welcome you back! 🎉

During the week-long renovation, part of the ground floor will be permanently sectioned off, and some foot massage chairs will be temporarily relocated to the second floor. The painters and plasterers assured us they would work quietly to minimize disruption. 🤫

We truly appreciate your continued support for us and other local businesses along Chang Klan Road, which was heavily affected by the recent floods. 🫶

The water has finally receded from Chang Klan Road and our massage parlor. We returned this morning, cleaned the dirt off the first floor, and put the furniture back in place. The damage is minor: outside, the current swept away a bench and a few flower pots. Inside, however, we’ll need to repaint the walls and replace the doors to the restroom and staff room. Despite this, we’re planning to reopen the day after tomorrow. 🕊️

Unfortunately, our relief was short-lived. 😔 The second wave of flooding was far more powerful than the first, and the water eventually breached our defenses, rising almost a meter on the first floor. 🌊 Thankfully, none of the furniture was damaged as we had once again moved it to the upper floors. 😂 We spent the night at the shop, but when the power was cut in the morning, we knew we had to leave. 😱 We waded a kilometer and a half through the flooded Chang Klan area, with water reaching waist or chest height, depending on the person, and holding onto each other due to the strong current. 🏊🏻‍♀️

Dear Customers,

We are happy to announce that our massage parlor is open as usual, and we’re excited to welcome you back!

The recent flood caused only minimal physical damage to our space—just a broken flower pot from the waves. On the bright side, Laa managed to rescue a floating houseplant, which she has now adopted.

A special thanks to Bee, Laa, Jan, and Tin for their hard work over the past few days. They tirelessly moved furniture and tackled leaks, even working through the night to ensure everything was in order.

For those unfamiliar, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a major holiday celebrated across East and Southeast Asia on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese calendar. It coincides with the full moon, which is believed to be the biggest and brightest of the year. This year, it falls on September 17th. 🎊

In Thailand, one of the highlights of this holiday is the mooncake—a round pastry with intricate designs pressed into the surface. These mooncakes can be filled with various ingredients, including red bean paste, lotus seed paste, walnuts, fruits, salted egg yolks, melon seeds, and more. It's said that the finest (and priciest) mooncakes in Chiang Mai are crafted by the chefs at the Shangri-La Hotel, conveniently located just 200 meters from Kunlarat Massage! 😋

While many of our regular customers from Korea, China, and Singapore will be visiting Chiang Mai for this special occasion, I will be heading to Vietnam from September 15th to 23rd to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi! 🇻🇳

Trung thu vui vẻ! (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnamese) 🥳

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝?

Thai foot massage is known for its invigorating effects, using techniques like squeezing, stretching, and manipulating muscles to boost blood and lymph flow. While beneficial for many, it’s not suitable for everyone.

If you have cardiovascular issues, especially with blood clot risks or a history of stroke, including heart failure, coronary artery disease, arterial thrombosis, deep vein thrombosis, and chronic venous insufficiency, avoid too intensive foot massage!

Remember that blood clots most typically form in the thigh or lower leg, though they can also develop in other areas of your body.

This client, a regular gym-goer and a literal mountain of muscle 💪, originally came in for a foot massage. However, Peter quickly noticed the extreme tightness in his neck and shoulder muscles and couldn't resist providing a much-needed massage to relieve the tension. 🔥😎👌

⚠️ It's important to remember that excessive muscle tension in overtrained neck and shoulder muscles can compress nerves, potentially leading to conditions such as tension headaches, migraines, myofascial pain syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, or cervical radiculopathy! 😵‍💫 Symptoms may include tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain in the head, arms, or upper back. I’ve placed this notice on every floor because each masseuse has their own unique style and technique. Sometimes, this may not match a client's expectations—especially if they are unfamiliar with massage and unsure of how to express their preferences. While some clients find their ideal therapist right away and stick with them, others may leave feeling disappointed.

If you're ever unsatisfied with your massage, please don't hesitate to call me! Requesting a different masseuse is completely normal, and I'm here to help you find the right match.

Hi, I'm Kunlarat Kongchan, the owner of Kunlarat Massage. Today I will show you 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 📉 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬!

The combination used in Thai medicine and Thai massage for this purpose usually consists of 8 points, most of which you cannot find and press on your own. But there is also a simplified combination of 3 points, which can be used for self-massage.

It is recommended that this procedure be performed in the following sequence: start with Tai Xi point to stabilize and strengthen the kidneys, which play a crucial role in regulating blood pressure, then follow with Tai Chong point to help soothe the liver, reduce stress, and improve circulation, and finish with Shen Men point to calm the mind and heart, promoting relaxation and further lowering blood pressure.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞

Wait about an hour after your meal before starting. This allows blood to flow to pressure points rather than the stomach.
Find a comfortable seat with your feet resting flat on the floor. If you choose to lie down, make sure not to cross your feet or legs.
Focus on relaxation. Take several deep breaths, directing them into your lower abdomen.

𝟏. 𝐓𝐚𝐢 𝐗𝐢

Tai Xi, or the “Great Stream” pressure point, is located on the inside of the ankle, in the depression between the medial malleolus (the prominent bone of the inner ankle) and the Achilles tendon. Stimulating Tai Xi helps to improve water metabolism in the body and maintain the balance of fluids, which influence blood pressure, as well as boost energy levels and enhance overall vitality.

How to find Tai Xi

Sit or lie down comfortably with your foot relaxed.
Find the medial malleolus, which is the bony prominence that protrudes on the inner side of your ankle. It’s actually not a separate bone but the end of your larger leg bone – the tibia, or shinbone.
Locate the depression midway between the tip of the medial malleolus and the attachment of the Achilles tendon. There should be an obvious dip that you can slide your finger into.
In this depression, you should feel a slight pulse. This is the Tai Xi point.

How to massage Tai Xi

Press and hold the point with your thumb or index finger for about 60 seconds. Repeat on the other ankle.
Massage the point in a circular motion for 1-3 minutes. Repeat on the other ankle.

𝟐. 𝐓𝐚𝐢 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐠

WARNING: Do not massage Tai Xi if you are pregnant because it is located too close to Yong Quan point, which is used for inducing labor.

Tai Chong, or the “Great Rushing” pressure point, is located on the top of the foot, in the depression between the first and second metatarsal bones (the bones leading to the big toe and the second toe). Pressing this point daily can significantly lower blood pressure. It may also help alleviate headaches, eye pain, and menstrual pain.

How to find Tai Chong

Sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor with your legs extended. Place your foot flat on the ground or lift it so you can see the top of it.
Use your thumb to find the space between the first and second metatarsal bones (big toe and second toe) where you can feel they intersect.
Slide your thumb about a thumb-width above this intersection until you find a slight depression about 1-2 inches below the webbing between the big toe and the second toe.
When you press into this depression, you should feel a slight tenderness or sensitivity indicating the correct spot. This is the Tai Chong point.

How to massage Tai Chong

Press and hold the point with your thumb or index finger for about 60 seconds. Repeat on the other foot.
Massage the point in a circular motion for 1-3 minutes. Repeat on the other foot.

𝟑. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐧

Shen Men, or the “Spirit Gate” pressure point, is located on the wrist crease, on the ulnar (pinky) side, in the depression between the pisiform bone and the tendon. It is associated with calming effects, helping to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. You can press on this point whenever you’re feeling upset or stressed to help calm yourself down. Because stress is a major factor in raising blood pressure, this point is also used to address heart-related issues.

How to find Shen Men

Slightly bend your wrist with the palm facing upwards. Look at the crease that forms where your hand meets your wrist.
Identify the ulnar side of your wrist and look at the crease near the base of your pinky finger.
Find the pisiform bone, a small, pea-shaped bone located on the ulnar side of your wrist. To locate it, use the tip of your thumb to feel the bony prominence on the outside edge of your wrist.
Feel for the tendon that runs from your pinky towards your wrist, just next to the pisiform bone.
Locate a small depression between the pisiform bone and the tendon. When your thumb presses into this depression, you should feel a slight tenderness or sensitivity indicating the correct spot.

How to massage Shen Men

Press and hold the point with your thumb or index finger for about 60 seconds. Repeat on the other wrist.
Massage the point in a circular motion for 1-3 minutes. Repeat on the other wrist.

•───────•°•❀•°•───────•

By incorporating this simple routine into your daily life, you can take proactive steps toward managing your blood pressure naturally. Remember, consistency is key! Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new health regimen, especially if you have existing health conditions.

Thank you for joining me today! Stay healthy, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further guidance.

Warm regards,

From the perspective of Eastern Medicine, any facial skin issue is an external manifestation of an internal health imbalance. Each area of the face is affected by specific organs and body systems and their energy lines. After identifying the type of imbalance, it can be addressed not only through medication, lifestyle, and dietary changes but also through manual stimulation of energy flow in the corresponding energy channel and energy points (pressure points).

Here’s what the face skin is telling us about our internal health:

● Forehead
This area mainly represents the bladder and intestines. Spots, rashes, color changes, fine lines, or a dull complexion on the forehead could indicate constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, or urinary tract infections. Stress, irritability, and poor sleep can also trigger imbalances in the heart and liver, leading to breakouts around the forehead area.

● Between the eyebrows and sides of temples
Common issues such as breakouts, redness, or irritation in these regions can suggest liver qi stagnation or excessive liver activity. Stress, poor diet, and emotional disturbances often contribute to these imbalances. These symptoms may also be linked to hormonal fluctuations and digestive problems, as the liver plays a crucial role in detoxification and hormone regulation.

● Under eyes
Under-eye bags, dark circles, and puffiness can indicate kidney swelling, often due to overwork, stress, lack of sleep, or aging. Excessive intake of liquids and stimulating foods can also contribute to eye bags. Additionally, liver and spleen imbalances can lead to fluid retention and inadequate nourishment, resulting in these under-eye concerns.

● Cheeks
The upper cheeks are connected to the stomach and spleen. Skin issues in this area may indicate digestive problems, such as poor diet, overeating, or the consumption of unhealthy foods. The lower cheeks are associated with the lungs. Acne, pimples, and rashes in this area are often caused by respiratory issues, including asthma, pollution, smoking, and allergies. Stress and emotional disturbances can exacerbate upper and lower cheek skin problems.

● Mouth
Swollen and inflamed lips, or painful, red, and inflamed sore on the tongue, gums, or inside the mouth is most likely caused by an excess of ‘heat’ in the stomach, spleen, or liver. This can be due to poor diet (too many spicy/greasy foods), weakened immunity, and emotional disturbances. As the heart is in TCM considered the ‘Emperor’ of the organs, the mouth area is primarily associated with the heart.

● Chin
Lastly, the chin and jawline area are linked to the reproductive system. Many women experience breakouts in this area around the time of their monthly cycle or during periods of stress, which can throw their hormones out of balance. From a TCM perspective, hormonal imbalances are caused by deficiencies in the kidney and liver systems.
