We had the privilege to organize a BIRTHDAY SURPRISE dive this Monday!!! So happy to see a group of friends diving together in the beautiful Phi Phi Marine Park and celebrating the birthday underwater with the turtles and huge schools of fish! Happy Birthday again Alex!

Today our Conservation Instructor Candice and her students went on coral restoration dive.

She found a huge Dead Coral head that she has used as stable substrate for broken corals to grow back.

They have transplanted about 16 coral fragments using epoxy and nails.

Some corals of genus Acropora, Porites, Favia and Montipora have been used.

Diversity is one of the keys!
Lets cross our fingers that they will have encrusted in few months! :)

Our first student joining us for a marine conservation day! 🌎💙

After a lecture on Koh Phi Phi marine ecosystem with our conservation diver instructor , they went to do some coral gardening, which is one of the technique to help the reef regenerate!

Using some broken pieces of dead coral, they fix them back using epoxy glue, onto a solid base like a big rock or a dead coral.

Eventually the coral is gonna Spread onto the base and grow, and helping the reef to regenerate itself!

We care about the reefs around Phi Phi islands - Therefore we have decided to take actions to protect them, and invite YOU to join us!

During the program you will:

1. Learn about Coral reef ecology and monitoring techniques

2. Learn about different techniques on coral reef restoration and nursery

3. Participate in coral reef restoration/nursery dives, and/or coral reef survey dives

4. Receive complimentary underwater photos of you working on conservation projects, so you could share your experience with your friends and invite more people to participate in conservation projects! 💙🐠
