The First Gold Pour at Chatree Mine
Gold mine brought back to life by CR3 celebrates its first pour. A major gold mine in Thailand that had laid dormant for six years recently celebrated its first gold pour since reopening. In 2022 CR3 carried out a significant refurbishment project at the mine, supplying workforce, technicians and specialised equipment to help the facility become fully operational once more. The CR3 difference — safer, quicker and more environmentally friendly cleaning technology for coke scale build-up. It's essential to invest in thorough cleaning of furnace and fired heater tubes to prevent coke and scale build-up from reducing operational efficiencies. The traditional method of Steam Air Decoking (SAD) widely used in the past has multiple drawbacks, including incomplete removal of coke and residual heat damage that can put worker safety at risk, as well as environmental emissions, longer shutdown times and shorter run lengths leading to increased cleaning frequencies. Finding a solution that can reduce or eliminate these risks is key to improving operational efficiencies. Our CR3 Decoking Technology (CDT) is a proprietary solution that resolves common issues relating to decoking and descaling with relative ease. It is not only safe, efficient, and cost-effective, but it requires neither high temperatures nor high pressures nor toxic chemicals — all it needs is water applied at near ambient temperatures and low pressure — typically just 150 psi — to drive a pigg along the tube walls, cleaning away any coke or scale that may have built up over time.
