We are excited to announce that our Assoc. Prof. Ediz Deniz will be with us with his hands-on course “Sinus Lifting”. 🤩

He graduated from Istanbul University, School of Dentistry, in 1999. Following this, he completed his PhD degree at Istanbul University in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, in 2004. In 2007, he joined Yeditepe University as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His academic career progressed, and in 2016, he was promoted to Associate Professor in the same department.

Prof. Dr. Burcu Karaduman will join us with her lecture entitled: Surgical Crown Lengthening for Predictable Restorations: An Update

Prof. Burcu Karaduman received her dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at Gazi University in 2001 and her PhD in Periodontology from the Institute of Health Sciences at Gazi University in 2007. After serving as an assistant professor at Yeni Yüzyıl University's Faculty of Dentistry and Istanbul Aydın University's Faculty of Dentistry, she was awarded the title of associate professor in periodontology by the Presidency of the Interuniversity Board in 2017. Currently, she holds the position of professor and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Biruni University, where she has been the head of the Department of Periodontology since 2017.

Prof. Karaduman has given guest lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Seconda Universita Degli Studi DiNapoli in Italy, European University in Macedonia, and Plovdiv University in Bulgaria. She has published numerous articles both nationally and internationally and serves as a section editor and reviewer for several prominent international journals. She is a member of the Turkish Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology and has presented her research at universities and conferences both nationally and internationally.

We are so proud to introduce our next speaker: Prof.Dr. Fırat Selvi 💫

Prof. Dr. Fırat Selvi will join us with his lecture entitled:
Orthognathic Surgery: Building Faces, Changing Lives

He graduated from Istanbul University, School of Dentistry in 2002. Following that, he continued his studies in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the same institution, completing his Doctorate and OMFS Residency training in 2008. He was thus awarded the titles of “PhD” and "Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist".

During his tenure as a research assistant in the same department, he also served as a clinical research fellow in between 2011 and 2012, at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), affiliated with the Harvard University, School of Medicine. He has also received the TÜBİTAK Postdoctoral International Scholarship during this fellowship year in the US.

In 2014, he was appointed with Associate Professor's degree. During the same year, he gained acceptance into the clinical studies program at the Harvard MGH OMFS Department, spanning two years (2014-2016). Successfully completing the senior two years of his specialization training, he achieved a certification from MGH OMFS Department as a "senior oral and maxillofacial surgery resident" in the USA. Throughout this period, he also undertook a four-month pediatric maxillofacial surgery rotation at the Boston Children's Hospital Department of Plastics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He received the title of Full Professor's degree at Istanbul University in August 2022 and currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Istanbul University, School of Dentistry.

He broke new ground in Turkey with the "lingual nerve microsurgical primary repair" operation. He is one of the first surgeons in Turkey who started to apply and pioneered the development of the new generation custom subperiosteal jaw implants, which are used for the rehabilitation of patients with severely resorbed jaw bones.
