Amber Caines - Councillor for Glencoe/Goodwood/La Puerta
Amber Caines is the prospective candidate for the electoral district of Glencoe/Goodwood/ La Puerta
She's always been there for me.
Just talking to her can make me happy.
She tells me of the hard times she's been through
In hopes that I won't go through them too.
She's an independent woman of stature and grace.
She has beautiful skin and a lovely face,
An audacious strength from deep inside.
In her I know I can confide.
She's my guardian angel who'll always be
A very special part of me.
She takes pride in caring for her kin.
She gives me hope and things to believe in.
If I didn't have her there for me,
Only God knows...
Sharlynn N. Manning.
Happy Birthday to former Councillor for Glencoe/Goodwood/La Puerta , former Chairman of Diego Martin Regional Corporation, my Political Mother , a Phenomenal Woman - Mrs. Susan Hong . Have a wonderful day! Love you plenty...

This year's Children Christmas treat came in the form of a magical movie night catering to a little over three hundred (300) children within the district.
The event began by offering various kids must have such as cotton candy, ice cream, popcorn, domino's pizza, bouncy castle , photobooth , 360 videos and a surprise visit from the grinch. Not forgetting the parents there was doubles and corn soup.
The traditional Christmas movie Home Alone was shown. Upon completion there were door prizes for:
1) Best PJs - 7" tablet
2) Largest family in Christmas PJs - Christmas snack hamper
3) A random winner - Christmas snack hamper
Each child was given a special Christmas gift, along with a snack bag filled with delicious treats upon leaving, ensuring a little piece of the Christmas magic goes home with them.
The event was truly a success. Nothing warms my heart more than seeing residents throughout the district all together at one venue having a good time.
I will like to thank HADCO Group , Domino's Pizza , Blue Waters
and Mr. Maynard for their donations towards this venture. To my M.P. Dr Keith Rowley you continue to demonstrate your love and support which is tremendously appreciated. On behalf of myself and the residents of Glencoe/Goodwood/La Puerta we say thank you for your generous donation aiding in another successful event.
To the residents of Glencoe/Goodwood/La Puerta this mark the end of our 'Five days of Sharing '. THANK YOU , thank you, thank you for your unwavering support and I will definitely see you at the next venture after God πππΎ.

Throughout the year, there exists a cadre of diligent individuals who tirelessly work behind the scenes. They are the driving force, the engine room, propelling every initiative from conception to fruition. What makes their efforts even more remarkable is that all of this is done on a voluntary basis, without any expectation of remuneration.
To show my appreciation for their unwavering dedication and significant contributions, a gift exchange was planned and they were treated to a small dinner at Woodford Cafe.
For those who could not have been there I say thank you! You'll were missed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your unwavering support.
I had a time.
Highlights below.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Luke 2:11-14 (KJV)
Let us all remember the true essence of the season. From my home to each home, have a Happy and Holy Christmas.
God Bless.

Throughout our district, countless families are dealing with the uncertainty of how they will be able to provide a meal for their loved ones this Christmas. This struggle is compounded by an observed need among many young individuals who lack proper business attire for a variety of reasons. For single parents, securing such clothing is a challenge as the priority often falls on securing food. Understanding these pressing needs, the office of the Councillor has initiated a compassionate response. This Christmas, sixty six (66) hampers and twenty seven (27) vouchers were provided to those in need, and a free Boutique loaded with a variety of used clothing items of all types was made accessible for residents throughout the district FREE OF CHARGE.
I will like to thank Xtra Foods and First Citizens - West Vale for their kind donation of hampers towards this cause. Her Worship, The Mayor, Alderman Akeliah Glasgow-Warner: Diego Martin I must thank you for being instrumental in obtaining those vouchers. To my M.P Dr Keith Rowley who never, never, never lets me down thank you for your significant contribution of hampers.
P.S. I do not post pictures of persons recieving aid.

An Afternoon with the residents at Finbar Ryan's Geriatric Home.
The elderly of today are the ones who laid the foundation for our generation to build and stand on. As a result, they should never be forgotten.
Today, lunch was prepared by Councillor Amber Caines herself and served to all residents at Finbar Ryan with restaurant settings , accompanied by homemade sorrel and dessert.
The seniors were then entertained throughout the afternoon in song by Francis and sisters Donelly and Aniya Matthews. Traditional board games such as snakes and ladder, ludo, checkers, dominoes and rummy were also played. Felix's Nayal Steel Orchestra and Music School concluded the evening with a bang while tokens of appreciation was distributed to each resident and member of staff.
Those elders are a burst of energy. Their knees are better than plenty of ours. They danced for so, applauded, sang and ate for so. Talk about conversation, oh boi. One ask Councillor Caines for a 'selfie' πππ. Another said the last time he got that treatment was at his wedding 41 years ago.
After all was said and done, when it was time to leave they actually did not want to say goodbye.
The evening was heartwarming and definitely worth
repeating.
A special thanks to the manager of Finbar Ryan - Mr. Joel Roberts ,his staff and all volunteers.
Below are some highlights.

Yesterday the pearls of Glencoe/Goodwood/La Puerta and environs were treated at our annual Senior Citizens Laucheon. Over two hundred and fifty venerable ladies and gentlemen were seated, dined, entertained and gifted. A good time was definitely had; they danced, sang , laughed and applauded. Seeing the appreciation shown on their faces confirmed to me that our mission was accomplished.
To the South Diego Martin Community Council- front of the class! Hong ,Donna Lewis and team - a well executed job!Thank you for always providing that extra support where needed, ensuring NOONE is neglected.
We did it yesterday in fine style and I am absolutely sure our guests will say same.
Cheers to our Pearls π₯
A grand time was had by all yesterday evening at the L.A Children's Christmas Party.
This evening was fun filled with various treats, fun activities , games and gift giving.
As Councillor, I am extremely proud of my immediate community who continues to support me and demonstrate love for our community. We stood united and executed yet another Christmas Party. Over 200 children benefitted from this gesture and trust me the smiles on those faces were priceless. That in itself is a motivation to continue to do what we do.
I will like to say a special thank you to our team L.A Events Committee:
Rachael and the Pacheco Family
Omari
Brandon
Mr. Stephens
Burke
Kadesha
Nicholas
Ornella
Juma
And all the residents who came out to support this venture.
As we say in L.A GOODNESS...
As per scheduled our Christmas Clean up campaign has began. Of course before attending council meeting this morning I had to check on the progress of things.
I am appealing to residents to please adhere to the days as per schedule. The days listed on the schedule are in addition to our regular scavenging pick up.
Dear Residents,
Please note the listed days are in addition to our regular pickup days.
Yesterday I had the honor of celebrating forty three (43) years of Ministry with Pastor Odette and the Four Roads Pentecostal Church.
It was an afternoon filled with praise and worship. Without a doubt I can definitely say the Holy Spirit was there.
The highlight of the evening for me was the sermon brought by the guest Pastor, Rev. Dr. Dale Des Vignes - Pillars of Truth Evangelistic Outreach Ministries.
That man of God brought the fire. That man of God brought the truth. Which I fully endorse.
In order for the CHURCH to be/ remain relevant today Christians need to :
1) Walk in UNITY
2) Walk in HOLINESS
3) Walk in LOVE
4) Return to TRUE worship
The devil is a liar and we need as Christians need to 'WARFARE in Worship '
Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV)
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Thank you Pastor Rev Odette for having me. It is always my pleasure.

This evening I am sadden by the news of the passing of past C.E.O of the formerly known Diego Martin Regional Corporation- Ms. Marva Carter who served from 2013 to 2016.
Ms Carter was an experienced C.E.O filled with innovation, knowledge , understanding and dynamic leadership. She was instrumental in the significant growth of our corporation at the time. Ms. Carter was an active leader , very no nonsense , stern , confident but yet a friendly kind of leader. She viewed our corporation as a family which was demonstrated through the various activities/events she spearheaded and her open door policy.
I had the honor of working alongside Ms. Carter as her secretary during her tenure ,where I gained vast knowledge on local government administration policies. I was also blessed to work under her on each occasion she served as returning officer for Diego Martin Central.
The photo below was taken on Thursday October 20th, 2016 at Ms. Marva Carter's retirement function held by the staff and council of DMRC.
My condolences to her family at this time and may her soul R.I.P.ππΎππΎππΎ
