Last checkup on Sergio Davi’s electronics and SIMRAD setup before leaving on his next leg to Curaçao on his Transoceanic RIB Adventure.
The only problem to be found was a missing paddle wheel for the speed sensor and the Iridium GO satellite communicator broke off it’s USB charging port which I hardwired instead and sealed with epoxy and will be actually more sturdy than the original…

Today shortly before sunset Sergio Davi arrived in Chaguaramas from French Guyana during his ‘Ocean to Ocean RIB Adventure’ which started in December in Italy and will bring him all the way to Los Angeles.
His 38ft RIB ‘dinghy’ Nautilus Explorer is driven by two 300hp Suzuki outboards and fully equipped with Simrad marine electronics.
Together with Chris and Liseth from C3 Marine we welcomed him at the Crews Inn customs jetty and assisted him with help from ‘Junior’ and Jesse James for a swift clearance through authorities.
He will stay in Trinidad for a few days for a full checkup on engines and all systems onboard before he will continue on his next leg to Curaçao.

Just received in the mail, my first official NMEA certifications 😃
It felt good to be back at school again and even from those basic courses I still learned a few new things despite my more than twenty years of experience in the field of marine electronics.
More important for our customers is, that installations done by a NMEA certified installer will be fully covered by most of the manufacturers warranties.

Back to school for a whole week from 8 to 5 with various manufacturer technical training sessions and official NMEA2000 and MEI certification courses.
