Cocoa Nibs are a main ingredient to our bar, as it gives it that distinct, unique flavor. Cocoa Nibs are small pieces of crushed cocoa beans that have a bitter, chocolatey flavour.

These rich, chocolatey nibs are loaded with nutrients and powerful plant compounds that have been shown to benefit health in many ways. Researchers have said cocoa nibs: may boost immune health, improve heart health and may benefit those with blood sugar control issues.

While we use cocoa nibs as a raw ingredient, cocoa nibs are sometimes used as a substitute for chocolate chips so you’ll see them appearing as toppings for ice cream, smoothie bowls, oats and yogurt or to give some crunch to fruit.

The 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝟔𝟎% 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 is made from the finest, most pulp Trinitario beans all 100% Trinidad and Tobago grown and harvested. The beans are all hand selected and crafted to create our final product the: 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝟔𝟎% 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 bar.

About the 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐧:

It was a natural union between the Criollo and Forastero cocoa varieties, which led to the Trinitario. Criollo beans are said to have the finest flavor. Though, it is not tolerant to pest and disease and produces low yield. Forastero is the most common bean found in the production of commercial chocolate. The Forastero was brought into Trinidad and planted alongside the Criollo. The natural hybridization between the two resulted in the Trinitario.

𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝟔𝟎% 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 - 𝟐𝟓𝐠 bar contains: just three ingredients: 𝑐𝑜𝑐𝑜𝑎 𝑛𝑖𝑏𝑠, 𝑐𝑜𝑐𝑜𝑎 𝑏𝑢𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑠𝑢𝑔𝑎𝑟.

The 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐬' 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 would like to congratulate the The Alliance of Rural Communities of Trinidad and Tobago - ARCTT on becoming one of three winners in the COSTAATT Cropper Foundation, and IDB Lab Full Circle Challenge.

Their winning entry proposed an expansion of their 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐟é 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩 using the circular economy model. They are committed to continuing their mission to connect farmers and producers with eco-minded consumers, and to provide community education on sustainability and circular economy. They will be expanding the offerings at their all-local zero-waste café, and developing a physical space for our zero-waste marketplace.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐨 - 𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐓𝐓 supported the Montanos' Chocolate Company at the beginning of our journey by processing our chocolate until we later became equipped to produce ourselves. They got us started to this cocoa game and we're eternally grateful for all their support and contribution to our growth.
