Down syndrome is a genetic condition that affects approximately one in every 800 births worldwide, and it is caused by the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21.

The theme for World Down Syndrome Day 2023 is "CONNECT," which emphasizes the importance of connections and relationships for people with Down syndrome. This year's theme aims to highlight the critical role of connections in promoting the well-being and full inclusion of people with Down syndrome in all aspects of society.

World Down Syndrome Day is an opportunity to celebrate the lives and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome, to recognize the challenges they face, and to advocate for their rights and inclusion. It is a day to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and encourage support for people with Down syndrome and their families.
