Trinibad artiste Mescach Emmanuel, widely known as Plumpy Boss, is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in St. Maarten and a relative has announced that he is in a critical condition with a bullet lodged in his brain.

The incident occurred early Saturday night, leaving the music community and fans in shock.

Reports indicate that around 4:10 a.m. yesterday, Plumpy Boss had just finished performing at a concert in the Maho area. As he was leaving in a black minivan with his entourage, they were ambushed by a group of armed men who opened fire on the vehicle. Five people, including a woman, were injured in the attack.

Authorities found approximately 50 rounds of ammunition at the scene, and the injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

An unsettling trend has emerged in Trinidad, where men are being set up and robbed by individuals they meet on Grindr, a popular dating app. Recently, a man was lured to a guest house in St. Augustine, only to be ambushed and robbed of his belongings upon arrival.

In this particular incident, the victim arranged to meet someone he connected with on Grindr. Expecting a casual rendezvous, he was instead confronted by two men who forcibly took his cash, cellphone, and other valuables. The police are actively investigating this case, urging caution among app users.

This robbery is not an isolated event. Should polygraph tests be used to weed out bad cops in Trinidad and Tobago?
