💊 Avoid oily vitamins and supplements like vitamin E, fish oil, co-Q 10, etc. Aspirin, baby aspirin (81 mg), ibuprofen, and naproxen should be stopped two weeks beforehand unless recommended by your healthcare provider. For prescription blood thinners, check with your prescriber. If arnica montana is effective for you, start taking it a week beforehand.​​​​​​​​

🍷Avoid alcohol two days before your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood and dilates vessels, making you more prone to bruising and swelling. And while we’re at it, no drinking the day after too ❌⁣⁣​​​​​​​​

🏃🏽‍♀️ Avoid exercising the day of and the day after filler. Increased blood flow raises your blood pressure and increases your risk of getting a bruise and worsening your swelling.​​​​​​​​

🧊 Right after injections, apply an ice pack or cold compresses. Cold causes vessels to constrict, potentially limiting the size of a bruise. Cold will also reduce swelling. Sleeping 🛌 with your head elevated helps drain excess fluid away around your face, reducing swelling.​​​​​​​​

🔥 After a day or two, some find it’s helpful to switch to warm compresses for a bruise. This increases blood flow to the area, causing the bruise to fade quicker. Taking ibuprofen or naproxen at this point can help reduce swelling.​​​​​​​​

🧴Keep taking your arnica montana if you started it beforehand. Topical bruise creams like vitamin K oxide and arnica can be used as well. In-office treatments like IPL, pulsed dye lasers, and LED lights can also be used to speed up recovery.​​​​​​​​

This is a general guideline you can follow to get an idea of how many syringes you will need per area of the face.

From subtle to dramatic enhancements, each individual requires a customized treatment plan as dermal fillers are not a one-size-fits-all.

For instance, in certain areas like lips, your advanced nurse injector will build it up gradually so it’s likely that one syringe may be repeated over 2-3 sessions until your lip goals are met. 🫦

If you’re considering getting filler for the first time in your 40’s or 50’s, expect the overall number of syringes to be higher. Why? Because we are playing catch-up for volume loss over the years. Remember, these treatments are best done in stages, not all at once!
