The Behavioral Sciences Student Association has taken up an initiative to assist students who were recently affected by the floods experienced nationwide. ⛈⛈

We had two successful days at Guild Fest 2017! 🎉 Kudos to all who dropped by and participated in our stimulating brain games and won prizes!
This weekend the BSSA headed south to complete our charity initiative. We were able to redo the children's living room area by providing some rugs, cushions and pillows to make it feel more homey!
You would remember we advertised in our event, XPLICIT, last semester that part proceeds goes towards charity. We are happy to say that your contributions have allowed us to firstly donate hampers to Behavioral Sciences students which we did at the end of the semester and also this charity work. Thank you guys for your support and we look forward to doing greater things next semester!
Also, hats off to the executive team for volunteering their time to ensure this project was completed.
The UWI invites you to a FREE seminar on Psychological Assessment on Thursday July 27 from 1- 3pm. See flyer for details

The Behavioral Sciences Student Association would like to endorse this Initiative that is being pushed by the UWI STA Peer Counseling Association as a response to the untimely passing of Matthew Ceasar who found the pressures of life too much to bear and lost all hope.
As students of UWI we must take time to acknowledge that life can be stressful at times with all that is expected of us. This is why we must make it our duty to make sure that we keep a positive and uplifting relationship with all our peers and colleagues as we never know the mental state that one may be experiencing.
We encourage you to follow the steps outlined by the Peer Counsellors as we push this Social Media Campaign for Awareness and as a means of Speaking Out . We also extend our deepest condolences to the Friends and Family of the deceased!!!
You may have heard that another student committed su***de. One of the ways in which we are responding is through a social media campaign. We would like to encourage everyone to participate. There are two ways you can participate:
1) share a status in the following format, and using the hashtag. " [insert something personal, something that you are going through] [insert a positive resolution] "
here's an example: I was having a long week and feeling very overwhelmed. I thought I had reached my breaking point, but I opened up to my friend about it, and they really help me put things into perspective.
2) do the same as above and add one of the photos in this album to the post.
We would like other students to use these hashtags as well, so we encourage you to
1) share and like the posts from PCA's page
2) tag your friends in the posts that you make
As Peer Counsellors we have a responsibility to our student body. This movement helps raise awareness about who we are, it helps raise awareness about what people might be thinking, it helps to encourage and support people who may have suicidal thoughts, and it helps reduce the stigma surrounding expressing yourself, and seeking help.
We hope that you will all participate
(p.s you can use Instagram, facebook, twitter, ANYTHING, to participate in the movement, just make sure to include the hashtags)
We here at the Behavioral Sciences Student Association extend our Congratulations to Jonathan St. Louis-Nahous our newly elected UWI STA Guild President and to all those elected in there respective positions.
We look forward to working with you all as we strive for excellence within our campus.
Thank You to all Students who participated in our Defense Seminars over the past two weeks. We hope that it was as informative and enjoyable for you as it was for us.
We also say Special thanks to our Founder Ammeil K Ali and the U.W.I Combat Readiness Club for making this possible.
In today's society we should not rely on others for our safety. A simple change of mindset can make the difference between life and death.
Come learn from an internationally trusted system just what that means!
This seminar will give you first hand experience as to just how effective this system is in modern society! No fancy outfits. No gimmicks. Just real, effective techniques.
Best of all it's FREE! You may attend one of the two days mentioned for absolutely no cost and learn from the best!
Look out for this 👀
