端午節，又稱龍船節，是中國傳統節日之一，通常在農曆五月初五舉行。這個節日慶祝活動豐富多彩，其中最著名的活動之一就是舉辦龍船競賽⛴。人們會在這一天賽龍舟、吃粽子、掛艾草和喝雄黃酒等。端午節的起源據說與紀念古代愛國詩人屈原有關，人們在這一天也會把粽子投入江河之中，以防止魚龍傷害屈原的身體。

Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is one of the traditional Chinese festivals, typically celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month in the lunar calendar. This festival features various colorful activities, with one of the most famous being the dragon boat races⛴. People engage in racing dragon boats, eating sticky rice dumplings (zongzi), hanging mugwort leaves, and drinking realgar wine, among other customs. The origins of the Dragon Boat Festival are said to commemorate the ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan, and people also traditionally throw zongzi into rivers to prevent fish and dragons from harming Qu Yuan's body.
On this special day of the traditional Chinese festival, the International Office will be closed on June 10th. With this holiday, we hope everyone can enjoy the festive atmosphere and experience the unique charm of different cultures. Wishing you all a pleasant and safe holiday❤!

香包製作活動🧧
外籍生學伴交流製作香包活動圓滿結束。在這次活動中，我們一同學習了如何製作香包，透過手工製作，增進了彼此之間的交流與了解。大家共同分享了快樂與溫馨，這將是我們美好的回憶之一。

香包演變至經成為端午節的習俗，在古代卻是預防瘟疫的香囊，由於香包內會放置中藥草，掛在身散發出芳香和揮發性物質，在春天到夏天之際容易有傳染病滋生，有著降濕殺蟲的功效。

端午節是中國的傳統節日，寓意著慶祝和保護。這個節日源於紀念屈原，一位忠貞愛國的詩人，人們以賽龍舟、吃粽子等方式來紀念他。而粽子則是端午節的特色之一，傳說中人們把粽子投入河中，希望防止魚蝦吃掉屈原的屍體，這也成為了端午節的傳統習俗之一。

The foreign student buddy exchange activity on making sachets has successfully concluded. Through this activity, we learned how to make sachets together, which enhanced mutual communication and understanding through handicrafts. We all shared joy and warmth, making it one of our cherished memories.

Sachets have evolved into a custom of the Dragon Boat Festival, but in ancient times, they were used as sachets to prevent plagues. Because medicinal herbs are placed inside the sachet, when hung on the body, it emits fragrance and volatile substances. During the transition from spring to summer, when infectious diseases are prone to spread, it has the effect of reducing humidity and killing insects.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday, symbolizing celebration and protection. This festival originated from the commemoration of Qu Yuan, a loyal and patriotic poet. People celebrate by participating in dragon boat races, eating rice dumplings, and other activities in his honor. Rice dumplings are one of the highlights of the Dragon Boat Festival. Legend has it that people threw rice dumplings into the river to prevent fish and shrimp from eating Qu Yuan's body, which has become one of the traditional customs of the Dragon Boat Festival.

一、 Eligibility申請資格✏
(一) Do not have Nationality of Republic of China and Do not meet the following conditions不具中華民國國籍且不具下列各情形者：
1. Possesses overseas Chinese student status or has ever applied / studied in R.O.C. as an overseas Chinese student具有僑生身份，或曾以僑生身份在臺申請入學或就學者。
2. Has applied and obtained a high school diploma as an international student in R.O.C. and would like to pursue a further degree曾以外國學生身分申請並取得高中學位，並希望繼續在臺申請就讀大學者。
3. Has been expelled by a university or college in R.O.C.曾被國內大專校院退學者。
4. Holds nationality of Hong Kong or Macau or People's Republic of China.具有香港或澳門或中華人民共和國國籍者。"
(二) Applicants for the bachelor's program must hold a high school diploma. Applicants for the master's program must hold a bachelor's degree. Applicants for the doctoral program must hold a master's degree.

📢【甄選】2025年赴非大陸地區交換學生計畫暨學海飛颺獎學金申請事宜🌍
一、說明📣：

本次招募僅針對前往非大陸姐妹校交換，如欲申請前往大陸姊妹校交換，請以本處相關公告為準。
本次招募結合教育部學海系列獎學金進行面試，如符合以下任一點說明者，請務必依本簡章辦理申請事宜
擬於2024或2025年赴姊妹校進行雙聯學位計畫或赴非姊妹校研修者，可於本次申請學海飛颺獎學金補助。
擬於2025年赴姊妹校進行交換計畫者，可於本次申請交換生資格及獎學金補助（學海飛颺或本校獎學金）。

二、申請日期✏： 自即日起至113年(2024年)5月10日(星期五)中午12:00止。

*同學需自行將申請件送至系所、學院核章，申請件如未核章者，將退件並請同學於截止日前補正。若申請者為研究生，應自行取得指導教授簽章，如未能取得指導教授簽章，請附上教授同意同學申請赴外之信件。以上規定如有窒礙難行處，請務必盡早、主動與承辦人聯繫。

三、繳交方式📃：採紙本及電子檔(PDF檔案)並行方式繳交，請參考簡章說明並按指定方式辦理。

❗ 重要建議

1.強烈建議同學先瀏覽簡章後，在準備申請文件前，先約時間至國際處面談，了解自己是否符合所選計畫之要求，避免準備的方向有誤。

2.為避免同學撲空或久候，前來諮詢前，請務必透過電子郵件預約時間，來信請務必提供同學系所、學制、姓名、預計前往研修的學校及至少3個同學方便前來的時段，將於確認後，盡速回覆同學。

3.如有疑問，除可約時間前來諮詢，亦可透過電子郵件或電話詢問。

4.校內行政單位工作時間為每週一至週五9:00至17:00，中午休息時間為12:00-13:00，另，清明連假校內行政單位於3月30日至4月7日間放假，請留意預約或前來的時間。

📢【Recruitment】2025 Student Exchange Program (Except for Partner Universities in Mainland China)🌍

From today until May 10, 2024, at 12:00 PM/noon.

Students are required to obtain all necessary approvals (stamps) from their respective department and college for their applications. Any application that lacks the required stamps will be returned. For graduate students, please obtain your professor's signature. If this is not possible, provide an approval letter from your professor would be workable.

Each component of the application must be submitted in specific formats as outlined in the guidelines. Please carefully review the guidelines and submit your application accordingly.

❗ Recommendations
1. It is strongly recommended read the guideline thoroughly and schedule an appointment with the Exchange Coordinator, Ms. Marbert Hsu, before initiating your application process. During this meeting, you will receive guidance on the requirements and necessary preparations, which will facilitate a smoother application process.

2. To ensure a timely and efficient consultation process, we recommend scheduling an appointment via email in advance. When reaching out, kindly provide the following details: your department, degree, full name, intended host university for the exchange program, and at least three preferred time slots for consultation. This proactive approach will help minimize scheduling conflicts and reduce wait times.

3.Our office hour is from 9 AM to 5 PM from Monday to Friday. We have lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM.

4. Please note that our office will be closed for the spring break from March 30th to April 7th. During this period, there may be some delays in responding to inquiries.

又稱為二二八和平紀念日，是臺灣一個極具意義的紀念日，定於每年的2月28日。此日旨在追憶及懷念1947年2月27日至5月15日期間的二二八事件，並呼籲社會實現和諧、團結與和平🤝🏻。
二二八事件是臺灣歷史上的一個重大轉折，由政治不滿、社會不公以及貧富差距擴大等引發抗議，最終演變成嚴重的政治事件。在這段時期，許多人失去了生命，財產損失慘重，社會陷入動盪。

💐Taiwan Peace Memorial Day💐
also known as 228 Peace Memorial Day, is a highly significant commemorative day in Taiwan, observed annually on February 28th. The day aims to remember and reflect upon the events of the 228 Incident that occurred between February 27th and May 15th, 1947. It calls for the realization of harmony, unity, and peace in society🤝🏻.
The 228 Incident marked a pivotal moment in Taiwan's history, sparked by political dissatisfaction, social injustice, and widening wealth gaps, ultimately evolving into a severe political upheaval. During this period, many lives were lost, and there were substantial losses of property, plunging society into turmoil.
The observance of Peace Memorial Day seeks to awaken reflections on history, strengthen societal consensus on reconciliation, and promote reconciliation among different ethnic and political groups. On this day, government agencies, schools, and social organizations organize various commemorative activities, including memorial ceremonies, seminars, and artistic performances. These events express respect for history, a desire for peace, and inspire collective efforts to prevent the recurrence of similar tumultuous periods.
On this day, the people of Taiwan collectively pursue the ideals of peace, justice, and harmony. They hope that through the lessons of history, the nation and society can unite to construct a more prosperous and stable future❤.
