Mark spends three years finishing the book, cycling around Taiwan. At first, he started from making notes and drawings. After cycling for a while, he plans all the routes and wants to show the alternatives, mountains and other east coast roads in Taiwan. If you’re planning to bike around Taiwan, this book is highly recommended. Not only does the book provide practical advice, but it also covers preparations before starting on a bike ride.

The owner, Cliff, started his brand six years ago with his coffee stand on the street near Zhongxiao Fuxing station.
⁡
The name of the brand comes from Cliff’s personality who’s being modest, humble and down-to-earth. And the stones also represent the rocks in the iced coffee.

What’s special about his coffee is he makes the coffee with Flair Espresso which is rare to find in Taipei. Also, the coffee beans are from the coffee shop “G’day Coffee”, featuring medium roast with floral and chocolate flavor.

憨人咖啡，六年前Cliff就用這個名字，在東區街頭擺攤了一段時間。

我問他為什麼品牌名稱會叫做憨人？
⁡
他說：因為身邊朋友常形容我的形象，憨厚老實，腳踏實地。在別人眼中的他就像個憨人一樣。

而很特別的是，他使用不插電的義式拉霸機，使用G’day Coffee的中培咖啡豆慢慢地將咖啡完美地萃取出來。

目前四月的每週日他都會來Star擺攤，歡迎大家來找他喝上一杯週日咖啡。

Good news! Recently, we launched our new Star 143 beer cups with two different cute patterns.
⁡
During WW II, beer brewing siginificantly dropped due to material shortages. The Taiwan Tabacco and Liquor Bureau came up with an idea by shrinking the size of the cups to meet consumption, allowing a 600ml bottle of beer to be shared among 4 to 6 peoople. This is why we call it 143 beer cup.

This time we cooperate with Spring Pool Glass which is the biggest glass waste recycling company. They allow recycled glass to reborn and imbued with a process of revitalization and secondary value for waste glass.

繼廣受外國人喜愛的台啤玻璃杯後，最近Star商品部也推出自己圖案的143啤酒杯！

會取名叫143的原因是由於二戰期間物資短缺，菸酒公賣局因而將啤酒杯縮小，讓一瓶600ml的啤酒能夠分給4到6人共享。

這次玻璃杯的製造更是和春池玻璃合作推出。春池玻璃為全台最具規模之廢棄玻璃回收業，賦予回收玻璃重生歷程及二次價值．並以此帶入人們的日常生活。

Have you heard we usually celebrate Qingming Festival with Taiwanese spring roll? The tradition is actually originated from Cold Food Festival. With the tradition, people cannot cook with fire, they can only have cold food on that day. So that‘s the story behind Qingming Festival. Go give Taiwanese spring roll a try at Ningxia night market near Star Hostel.

為了支持森林永續循環，開業十年，我們都是使用來自新竹縣五峰鄉的人造林木材，永泰林業 X 正昌製材的「柳木」。

在林場的一天，從搬運樹苗到種植，真的好有趣也好累啊～～～

希望旅人們來到Star，都可以感受到大自然帶來的美好。

Star‘s field trip takes place in the forestry🌲

Have you ever wondered where the wood for store interior decoration and furniture comes from?

To support the sustainable development of the forest, from the platform in the Lounge, and the wooden cabins, to the tables and chairs in the Café and rooms, for the past decade, we have been using willow wood from Jang Chang lumber company in Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County.

A day in the forest, from transporting to planting saplings, is exhausting but truly interesting.

We hope every traveler can experience the beauty of nature at Star.

There is a popular food stand just downstairs of Star, Pepper Bun, often selling out shortly right after it comes out of oven.

It consists of bread crispy on the outside with white sesame seeds, and fluffy on the inside with green onions and ground pork, baked inside a barrel.
