☢️ An explosion at the Zaporizhia NPP poses a 10 times higher risk of destruction than Chornobyl - a public appeal to world leaders and the media from the Free Ukraine Resistance Movement.

Today The State Agency for Exclusion Zone Management of Ukraine (Chornobyl) has published the official statement on possible consequences of nuclear terrorism acts of russian federation at ZNPP (below).

Every day, more and more threatening information is received from the temporarily occupied Energodar and the Zaporizhzhia NPP. To the information about the mining of the station, news have been added today about the probable involvement of the Russian Wagner Group in this act of terrorism. As Ukrainian troops with the Western support proceed with liberating the occupied territories, there is threat of severe detonation.

We declare that Ukrainians will under no circumstances succumb to nuclear blackmail and will resist until the complete liberation of all occupied territories.

However, taking into account the real threat of a terrible and cynical terrorist act, we appeal to the leaders of the world's states and the world's media with a call to immediately put forward a tough demand to Russia:
❗️Carry out a complete deoccupation of the station by the Russian military, with a drastic increase in sanctions in case of refusal
❗️Provide access and control over the station to international organizations, in particular - the UN and the IAEA

🚩 The Ukraine's state agency for the management of the exclusion zone has prepared a probable scenario in case of possible explosion, we quote their statement:

"To evaluate possible consequences of the ZNPP catastrophe, we can use the events that were recorded on the Chornobyl Nuclear Plant in 1986.

An important factor of comparison is the amount of nuclear fuel:
1. Chornobyl Reactor 4 had about 2,000 fuel units.
2. There are up to 18,000 fuel units (9-10 times more) at the ZNPP in 6 reactors and in the spent (expired) fuel storage.
3. Then, we assume consequences are 10 times more powerful than in 1986.

Thus, POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES for ecology and humanity:

❌The area of the potential exclusion zone will be up to 30,000 km2 (like 10 Chernobyl exclusion zones)
❌ Zaporizhzhia region will be practically lost for housing and farming
❌ Area of potential contaminated territory - up to 2,000,000 km2 (three times the size of Ukraine)
❌ The degree of infection of other territories of Ukraine and Europe, Russia and Belarus depends on the wind direction
❌ Number of liquidators personnel - at least 1 million people
❌ Tens of thousands of casualties, depending on the current number of people that are currently in the Zaporizhzhia region (the numbers for occupied territories are difficult to determine)
❌ The number of evacuated/displaced persons is at least 2 million people
❌ Pollution of the Dnipro river for many years to come
❌ Release of radioactive Cesium-137 in quantities dangerous to human health, soil, and water bodies. Ukraine will take on the majority of the consequences

It is important to understand that the release of radioactive Сesium during a possible accident in Zaporizhzhia will be one-time, and its' direction will depend on meteorological conditions.

Europe, Belarus and Russia can potentially suffer. An accident can be caused by, for example, a fire, or an explosion, or being hit by shells, bombs, or rockets.

Now the Russians have placed military equipment in the engine room of the first power unit, where the turbo generator is located. A large amount of technical oil (dozens of tons) is stored there. This is a fire hazard room. This estimate is approximate, but the scale will be not less than described.

Ministry of Environmental Protection emphasizes:
THE ONLY EFFICIENT STEP TO ENSURE SAFE FUNCTIONING OF ZNPP IS WITHDRAWAL OF RUSSIAN TROOPS FROM ITS TERRITORY."
