Партнер Олексій Столяренко (Oleksiy Stolyarenko) та співголова комітету інтелектуальної власності Американської торговельної палати в Україні (American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine) взяв участь у круглому столі Американської торговельної палати в Україні та Посольства США в Україні щодо питань, пов’язаних із боротьбою з фальсифікованою та контрафактною продукцією у сфері охорони здоров’я, який відбувся в Києві на минулому тижні.

Підсумовуючи роботу круглого столу, Олексій зазначив: «Правоохоронній системі необхідно працювати над якісним розслідуванням справ, що стосуються контрафактних ліків, доводити їх до суду і притягувати винних до відповідальності. Оскільки розслідування таких справ вимагає специфічних знань, то критичним є накопичення такої експертизи, забезпечення сталості правоохоронних органів і тісна співпраця з індустрією. Тільки таким чином можна зберегти життя пацієнтів, а також стимулювати функціонування цивілізованого ринку обігу ліків в Україні.»

Our Junior Attorney Mariana Postolovska joined on a pro bono basis the expert team for the development of the Standards for the Investigation of War Crimes – "General Part" and the first set of standards that relate to a specific type of crime "Illegal Deprivation of Liberty and Torture", approved by the Prosecutor General and the Methodical Council at the Prosecutor General's Office. Work on standardizing the investigation of the crimes of "Deportation" and "Attacks on civilian objects" is in progress.

The Standards are a joint product of JustGroup, a specialized Department of the Prosecutor General's Office (Офіс Генерального прокурора) and leading national experts in international humanitarian law. At each stage of development, the Standards were verified by prosecutors who investigate war crimes and national judges of various levels at the final stage.

The Standards are intended to generalize the best international and domestic practices of the investigation of war crimes, to provide the necessary knowledge regarding the subject of proof and the rules of qualification of cases of violation of the laws and customs of war, to help with the determination of priorities during the pre-trial investigation, as well as to provide urgent tools for gathering evidence.
