XR Ukraine is a community that unites Ukrainian companies working in the field of VR and AR.

How was it born?
Initially, Daria Fedko began to communicate with Ukrainian companies working in the XR sphere. Her enthusiasm and vision for the future of this industry was shared by Maria Poliakova, Artem Batogovsky and Sergiy Tereshchenko, who became co-founders of XR Ukraine.

How does the Board function?
The founders of XR Ukraine - four heads of XR companies - meet twice a week to plan the strategic development of the community, operational activities and project implementation.

Who are the Board?

Daria Fedko CEO, is responsible for strategic development, attraction of investments/grants and international partnerships. CEO WE/AR Studio. Her company WE/AR Studio is an AR/VR Development Company. They are always ready to help your company grow and achieve your business objectives with the power of custom AR/VR solutions!

Artem Batogovsky Community Product Lead, is responsible for the community product development, website development. CEO of VRNET.IO. Together with his company VRNET they developed their own technology specifically for developers who seek to use modern technologies and virtual reality to increase sales. They can quickly and easily turn ordinary interior and exterior layouts into modern VR / AR online showrooms.

Poliakova Mariia CMO, is responsible for the marketing and communication strategy, as well as for the community's design. CEO of INCH KYIV. Her company, INCKYIV, is Full-Service Pharmaceutical Marketing Agency with 19+ years of marketing experience and more than 70 talents. Their mission is to bring ultimate good to patients via bright, brave, and effective Pharma communications.

Sergii Tereshchenko, is responsible for operational management and the development of rules and policies. CEO of Sensorama Lab, His company, Sensorama Lab, specializes in the development of VR and AR applications, 3D modeling & animation and 360 video production.

On 11-12 April Sensorama Lab attended the Immersive Tech Summit in Central Florida, an event focused on the integration of immersive technologies in training across defense, aerospace, and healthcare sectors.

Here are some key takeaways from our side:

🔹Mixed reality is crucial in pilot training, enabling trainees to experience high-stakes scenarios safely and cost-effectively. Companies like Red 6 are at the forefront, integrating AR in live flight training, significantly reducing the gap between simulation and real-life applications.

🔹 It's essential to maintain a 'human in the loop' approach to minimize errors—often capped at 10%—and to mitigate potential risks associated with AI inaccuracies in training and simulation, especially when it comes to defense.

🔹 Digital twins will be the basis for a whole myriad of applications. There is a need to create scenarios that have not just visuals and data but a combination of them, including the human representative.

🔹 In healthcare, VR is transforming how medical professionals train, from virtual medication machines for nursing students to sophisticated robotic surgery simulations. These technologies reduce learners' anxiety and ramp up their readiness for real-world clinical environments.

🔹 The summit also highlighted efforts in accessibility, including an AR navigation tool for persons with visual impairment, where the edges of the surfaces would be highlighted for better visibility; and adaptive learning systems that tailor training to individual needs and speeds.

Also amazing exhibitors at the Tech Expo! Had the opportunity to check the new Varjo headset with a 4k visual fidelity, try anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapon training by M3D Technologies, and ride in a space fighter simulator by Talon Simulations, LLC to name a few.

And shoutout to the organization team VR/AR Association - Central Florida Chapter and all working on site who made this event possible!

We participated in the training program of the pioneer initiative of mentors from twelve Ko_Laba youth centers.

🌟 Just returned from the : Extended Intelligence, a day spent with revelations on the fusion of XR and AI. As a part of the Sensorama Lab team, Maryna Tymchenko attended the conference.

💡 Here's a glimpse into the insights that captivated us:

• Louis Rosenberg's concept of collective superintelligence highlighted AI's potential to amplify the intelligence of human groups as a whole. AI can enable us to aggregate and make decisions as a superorganism - similar to how fish schools and bee swarms act in nature.

• Women in XR panel, referencing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Grace Hopper, and Nonny de La Pena, paid homage to the contributions of women in tech. A very inspiring talk by Rika Nakazawa; and an insightful speech by Michelle Cortese on the UX design in XR and the hierarchy of users’ needs: safety function, usability, pleasure, and individuation.

• A discussion by Amy Peck and Domhnaill Hernon on XR in the enterprise. In the future the internet will develop on 3 pillars: how we experience it (more immersive, personalized, and human-like), Gen-AI, and Web3 decentralization, with metaverse being the superpower in L&D and future consumer experience.

• A focus on healthcare innovations, particularly in XR for surgical training and empathy training, showcased the role immersive technologies will play in advancing medical education and patient care. Main takeouts: build for the teacher AND the learner, and create for complexity. Amazing use cases presented by Rohan Jotwani MD, MBA, John Rubin and Kate Donovan show how XR technologies help bring medical care and education to a new level.

• A talk on entrepreneurship and innovation by Eran Orr and Haipeng (Mark) Zhang DO, MMSc, FAMIA highlighted the importance of XR in transforming healthcare delivery. Main thoughts: The 21st century will be a period of emerging technologies, headsets will become the main tool for healthcare, and MXR (medical extended reality) will be a new medical specialty.

Sensorama Lab Sensorama Lab specializes in virtual and augmented reality applications development.

Last week, Akihiko Tanaka, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA - Japan International Cooperation Agency paid an official visit to Ukraine. We demonstrated the VR project Ukraine: War in VR to him, so he could see the consequences of the war with his own eyes.

Our team is involved as a technical partner in a very important project

It was a pleasure to demonstrate our XR training products and Ukraine: War in VR experience (which we are working on as technical partners) to Sir Philip Robert Barton, the Permanent Under-Secretary of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

We've supported the WER Ukraine project about the war in Ukraine in 360 and their immersive exhibition at UNIT.City.

We were glad to participate in this year’s MetaBeat event, organized by VentureBeat, which took place last week in San Francisco, USA.

This was a great opportunity to learn more about Metaverse and connect with an amazing XR community.
