SUIT TRUTH: Cloth weight matters. Among the
150 or so images and photos from 100 years ago show suits looking
pretty much like suits of today. The most significant difference
between those garments and today’s are the sophistication of construction,
and the relative lightness of modern cloths, canvases, ...interlinings,
shoulder pads, and the rest of the hidden skeleton of a suit.

Suit truth 1 (A) The biggest difference between a
bespoke suit and an off-the-rack suit is that the former will
envelope your body more closely. This is a strange sensation at
first when you graduate from ready-mades to made-to-measure or full
bespoke.

Suit truth 1 : Fit is everything.

Something as classic as a gray three-button
suit can make you look anonymous or make you stand out like a beacon
of style. Your sense of style, degree of personal swagger and your accessories will make a
difference, but the most important aspect of the look is the fit.

Decide where you plan to wear your shirt
because it will make a difference when it comes to the fit, fabric
and detailing. For instance, for formal occasions, you'll want a
dress shirt with a very tailored fit in a neutral-colored,
luxurious fabric. On the other hand, if you're shopping for shirts
to wear for an evening at a swanky restaurant or bar, shirts with a
slimmer fit and trendier patterns are more appropriate. For business
meetings, when you need to dress to impress, a French cuff shirt
will help you create seriously fashionable ensembles. VISIT US HERE AT

WASH YOU OWN SHIRTS: THE BASICS.
Perhaps the most economical fashion
tip you will ever learn is how to wash your own shirts. Of course,
taking your shirts to a dry cleaner is easier; you drop them off
and they come back clean and crisp. However, washing them yourself is
not only economical but virtually guarantees longevity. The typical
cotton men’s shirt is not made to be dry-cleaned with harsh chemicals.
Yet, dropping them in a home washing machine or even taking them to the
coin machines down the hall takes a little practice. In fact, knowing
how to wash a shirt is much more a matter of water temperature, soap and
adequate soaking time than anything else.
Your most expensive
shirts will last longer if you took the time to do them by hand. While
you will have to take the time to care for them yourself, you will soon
find that this time will become less and less each week as you progress
in knowing how to care for your wardrobe. Thus, here are your best
options for doing the job yourself and learning how to wash your own
shirts.

Stay single on the vent :While it’s doubles on the buttons, bulky guys must keep the inverse in mind on the vent; specifically, avoid double-vented jackets. Vents, which are the slits at the back of the jacket, allow more movement. They also attract the eye, so huskier guys may not want to accentuate their backside. Instead, go for a single-vent jacket, which will give you the extra room you need minus the extra attention.

17/04/2010

Take 2 on the jacket: Added cushion on the torso can mean a disproportionate look in the jacket. To ensure the best-looking fit in the coat, remember that 2 buttons are optimal. The 2-button jacket is now the norm and designed to work for all body types. As an industry standard, it won’t draw attention to your bulky frame, like the modish impact of a one-button jacket or the slimming effect of a three-button piece.

fASHION TIP 4 2DAY : Make it solids or
vertical stripesFor guys with extra meat on their bones, solids work
best to create a sleek, slender visual. While loud patterns will
definitely work against you, there are still options for finding a suit
with added detailing. Since vertical stripes elongate the frame, they
are both appropriate and chic. Big guys can also choose tiny, innocuous
patterns for a bolder look, but only if they proceed with caution.

Fashion tips:Use dark colors While light colors make the body seem fuller, dark colors have the opposite effect. As these darker colors are slimming, they will do wonders to lighten the appearance of your frame, making you seem lighter on your feet. As for specific colors, choices like black and dark navy are as complementary as they are classy.

FASHION TIPS 4 2DAY A: Wear lightweight
fabrics A man with a fuller frame, be it from added time at the
gym or the buffet, should find a fitted suit that’s slenderizing.
Thankfully, given that it’s a slimmer cut, you’re automatically
behind the eight ball. From the get-go, only focus on models made
from lightweight fabrics; suits built from bulkier textiles will
only add weight, compounding the problem. Let soft, worsted wools be
your guide.

FASHION TIP FOR TODAY: A fitted suit is your body's best friend - you'll look sleeker and more sophisticated instantly. Find out how to buy one in the next few hours. All here at THE WARDROBE.

14/04/2010

FASHION TIP FOR TODAY: Skip the worn-out, tone-on-tone look when putting on a suit and tie. Try mixing your patterns by accenting your suit with a striped shirt and solid tie. And as you may well know, lighter colors and patterns usually hide flakes better than dark solids. Blended, natural fabrics that breathe ...can keep irritation to a minimum by reducing chafing.

Picking a new suit is never an easy task; there's the cut, the fabric
and the quality all to worry about. Though men's fashion trends change
at a slow pace, and suits slowest of all, 2009 and 2010 will see a major
move away from the monochromatic skinny-boy suit to something a lot
more masculine and adventurous. But don't worry, the slim cuts aren't
going anywhere we have them all here at THE WARDROBE.
