Last week, Bold Child Uganda Foundation was honored to respond to an Invitation by an association of parents from Kakoola community in Wakiso District to deliver a parenting training to them

Our team spent Quality time Empowering these parents with Basic parenting knowledge, skills, strategies and practises to help these parents navigate through this daunting role.

Child marriage remains a global issue

In Uganda 34% of girls are married off before turning 18 and 7.5% are married before their 15th birthday.

While child marriages affects boys, Girls remain victims and most affected globally, it completely robs them of their childhoods, education, health and freedom, and subjects them to r**e and abuse for the rest of their lives.

Girls living in the poorest, rural areas of Uganda are the most vulnerable and that as populations continue to grow, hundreds of millions of girls remain at risk.

In Uganda, Partners with marginalized communities to train parents and teachers to run girls’ clubs in schools and communities, to empower girls to understand and live out their rights, including saying no to child marriage. Women are acquainted as role models to the girls, showing them that finishing their education is possible.

Mothers play a bigger role in child development in fact in most African countries, parenting is left for mothers.

Children find Bonding automatic and easy with mothers compared to fathers because of the already built mother-child relationship.

While Mothers are critical in our work, we partner with them by going to far to reach communities, teaching them about child development and Empowering them to promote parent-led s*x education.

Today we celebrate all the women for the continuous role they play in child development.

"How do you even initiate a discussion about giving out your teenage child of about 13-18 years out for marriage when you have invested the past years building well connected systems and foundational Parent-child relationships from toddler age, it's so difficult says our Founder Isaac Otikiro.

Our founder fully believes that begins with Parenting Education programs, early childhood investment, effective family communication and fostering openness in children.

With our Parenting classes and S*x Education programs, we go miles to Empower parents and children about their haman rights and to Leverage an Empowered Parent-child Environment that unlocks the potential, Well-being and opportunities for vulnerbale children .

While our work is rooted in promoting parental involvement in child development, We cannot underestimate the critical role Women play in parenting

In Most African countries, Parenting is seen as a motherly responsibility which makes them Heroes in child development

Meet Joseph.

Joseph is in charge of our administration and He has been instrumental in the development of our project.

Bringing his experience in Human Resource work, Joseph is a young energetic person with too much passion in children.

Josephs grew without the love and connection of his parents, He grew with his step mother and that His determination to change his narrative and most especially vulnerable children to thrive is his big Motivation to his work.

*We work to help Vulnerable Children reach their potentialities through their parents by creating concrete and strong relationships between them.*

Our intended goal is to have that uneducated, uninformed and most Vulnerable parent out there understand that he has Gold, the next president or a very unique person in their children.

In most African countries women are left to handle all children matters and are believed to be responsible for child development something we want to supplement and improve.

In our Parenting training we emphasize the importance of collective parenting and the involvement of all parents in the development of their children.

We also emphasize that Parenting is not about financial resources but delight with what you possess and live a happy life as much as you can

The biggest irritation that comes with Menstruation is Stigma. We are drawing strategies to work with all the stakeholders and Parents to support Menstruation with pride.
