This page is created to act as a platform for everyone in the circle of architecture, architecture isn't a one man doing, it requires all of us
We are a formative association that bridges the gap between the students, academic institutions and the vast architecture profession and practising professionals.
At the core of Architecture Education is Design Porfolio. How are you continuing your studio sessions under the lockdown/quarantine period?
Join us this Monday as everyone shared how they have continued to push their design portfolio under this lockdown.

RAT TRAP BOND
Unlike English bond and Flemish bond in Rat trap bond method Bricks are placed in vertical position instead of conventional horizontal position and thus creating a cavity (hollow space) within the wall. Architect Laurie Baker introduced it in Kerala in the 1970s and used it extensively for its lower construction cost, reduced material requirement and better thermal efficiency than conventional masonry wall, without compromising strength of the wall.
The bricks are placed in vertical position, so that 110 mm face is seen from front elevation, instead of the 75 mm face (considering brick of standard size 230 X 110 X 75 mm). Since width of wall remains 230 mm, an internal cavity is created. This is where approximately 30% Material (brick and mortar) is saved and thus overall construction cost is reduced. Cavity provides effective thermal and sound insulation. This makes rat trap bond energy and cost efficient building technology.

OPEN CALL: UNSCHOOL COPENHAGEN
The competition seeks the creation of a ‘school for the future’ that completely negates the regularized building typology of existing ones. The competition seeks to radicalize the school system through architecture not only in terms of improving the quality of study environment but revamping the system and breaking all the physical and metaphorical class divisions into an entirely new school system.
