After the Traffic and Road Safety Act ammendment, vehicles that are 15 years and older will nolonger be registered by URA. So Ugandans should fork more for later models like 2011 n above. Thats since October 1st. Older cars in bonds have 3 months. Good luck.

WARNING: Car theft is on the rise in Uganda especially in the capital, Kampala. Caution should be exercised by those with Toyota cars in good condition. Models like Wish, premio, prado, harrier, rav4, kluger etc are highly targeted. These vehicles are taken in western Kenya and eastern DR Congo. The racket is so huge and organised that in hours after theft, the car has crossed borders, even tracking devices are disabled. Cars are drawn from homes, night parking and washing bays. Take note.
