I would like to thank the Government of Egypt and particularly the Egyptian Armed Forces for the quick response to our request for FMD vaccines. The 3 million vaccines we received yesterday at a low price is only the first consignment. More will be coming soon. I thank Egypt for its spirit of brotherly cooperation.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is in Kenya’s capital Nairobi for a State visit at the invitation of President William Ruto.

The President’s visit aims at strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Uganda and Kenya and exploring new avenues for collaboration and mutual benefits.

On arrival, President Museveni was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by a delegation from the Kenyan government led by the Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi , the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

Chief of Defense Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has tasked the top military commanders recently deployed at different levels of leadership in the Uganda People's Defence Force UPDF to aim for excellence.

Today in the afternoon have supervised a handover/takeover ceremony of some senior officers at Mbuya today.I asked the current teams to aim for excellence so that those who come after will appreciate their achievements.

Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu,
Greetings. Congratulations on the Good Friday and I wish you a happy Easter (amahiimbuuka).
I am in Rwakyitura with Maama and, later, we shall go to Kisozi to celebrate Jesus’ victory over death but also to audit and augment the NRM work among the Wanainchi in the battle for wealth creation in all the homesteads of Uganda.

While here, I was very happy to watch the good sermons on Good Friday given by the Christian preachers (Bishops and others), around the theme of the “Way of the Cross”. I was glad to hear all the preachers talking of the greatest Christian commandments being two. Those are: “Love God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, love your neighbour as you love yourself.”

Praised be the Lord to hear that message being proclaimed by all the preachers, universally. That has been the position of the NRM ever since 1965. Indeed, that is why we chased religious leaders (Army chaplains) out of the NRA –UPDF. Many of the preachers were preaching the ungodly message of sectarianism of religion and tribe and gender chauvinism.

It is good to hear the new message. Indeed, we have been saluting the religious leaders of Uganda for forming the inter-religious council in the year 2001 to bring together all the religious faith of the Country. Keep it up and uproot completely the ungodly practices of sectarianism.

Critics raised concerns yesterday about whether General MK should be likened to the president-elect of Senegal, following my tweet where i noted the inappropriateness of comparing Bassirou Diomaye Faye to Bobiwine.

Gen MK, born in April 1974, attended Kampala Parents School, Kings College Budo, and St Mary’s College Kisubi, graduating in 1994. He pursued further education at the Egyptian Military Academy, Kalama Armoured Warfare Training School, and United States Army Command and General Staff College in Kansas. Later, he earned a degree in political Science from Nottingham University.

Beginning as a cadet officer in the UPDF, General Muhoozi graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2000. He has held various roles in the army, including Commander of the SFC, Commander of Land Forces (CLF), Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operation, and currently serving as Chief of Defense Forces (CDF)

Its unjust to equet someone with such an extensive background with a graduate in Music Dance and drama

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba fomly known as "MK" has taken over the office of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and vowed to improve welfare of soldiers by fighting the evil of corruption and mismanagement of resources.

The Hand over/Takeover which took place in Gulu 4Division Headquarters was presided over by the Special Presidential Advisor on Defence and Security and also Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) Gen Caleb Akandwanabo, commonly known as Salim Saleh.
