Was lange währt...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a long break in our commitment in Uganda due to the pandemic situation, we were finally able to hand over the emergency bags – financed by donations from our students and their parents – to the AAPU during a renewed training assignment. Already in the summer 2 years ago - at the height of the pandemic and especially in Uganda, we asked the students and their parents to make a donation for our friends and colleagues in Uganda. The aim is to improve the initial care of patients in rural areas and to provide the mostly voluntary helpers who work there, who are organized via AAPU, with an initial diagnosis set consisting of an emergency bag, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope and blood glucose meter and equip ear thermometers. The company PAX was extremely accommodating in procuring the emergency bags.
Even though the peak of the pandemic has fortunately passed in Uganda, emergency medical care is still in its infancy, especially in rural areas. The donation handed over today is a small building block in the puzzle of improved emergency care in Uganda.
