In fifty cents book I had remember a page where I have quoted him saying and emphasizing the importance of "living honestly and faithfully to the environment you grew up in and the things that have influenced you, and to reach your full potential."
Fifty doesn't shatter a person just because he was raised in a "classy" environment, unlike the average star rapper.
Even though he grew up in a culturally rich environment, such as 2Pac and Mobb Deep's Prodigy, which he himself respects, and had excellent and delicate sensibilities, he couldn't stand it. I was worried about the eyes of those around me who said, "I have to," and closed the possibilities I had, and I played a tough image that was different from my original self. He has seen many who have lost their lives or failed to advance their careers.
Instead of trying to imitated someone else for try to be different from who you really are, it is important to live honestly with your own upbringing and the sensibilities you have honestly gained from it.
