Mushabe Samuel Founder of Making A Difference in Uganda Face to Face - Madufafa and Sam Kagumaho Foundation Ltd. - A Social worker and a Social Entrepreneur. After COVID - 19 Lockdowns in Uganda, many people were left jobless, many businesses never survived and the Country's economy took a nosedive, children dropped out of schools and at least 644,955 teenage pregnancies were recorded in a single year. People had no capital to restart their businesses and those that had restarted their small scale businesses lacked capital to sustain them. I had read a book donated to me by a Taiwanese professor (Prof. Wu) "Community Capacity Building and Empowerment" So I started to look for different ways to capacity build and empower my community.

Because at MADUFAFA I could only support the community socially, I decided to establish another Foundation (Sam Kagumaho Foundation Ltd.) to address economic challenges focusing on empowering small scale businesses in urban villages that cannot get access to financial support in Banks and/or any Micro Finance Institutions. As a result, I applied and successfully got a livelihood fund/loan from one of the Banks in Uganda and used part of my savings to be able to support my community through Economic Strengthening and Family Empowerment.

The Foundation is currently supporting hundreds of small businesses under "PROSPER WITH US" soft loans that require no securities - just National ID, two guarantors, business plan and a place of work, the daily repayment mode to avoid withdraw of large amount of money in a small business at once that can lead to business failure, Village Savings and Loans Association - VISLA (Women saving groups), Financial advises/trainings and Bursaries to children from moderately poor families.
