Videos by Moving Toward a Healthier Vermilion in Abbeville. Moving Toward a Healthier Vermilion is a project of the LSU AgCenter Vermilion Parish Extension Office, the Vermilion Parish Healthy Communities Coalition and Vermilion Parish SNAP-Ed Program.

The LSU AgCenter Vermilion Parish office and the Vermilion Parish Library system have teamed up to bring a Story Walk to the Abbeville Library. Story walks are a way to promote reading and physical activity together for residents to explore areas of Vermilion Parish. The Story Walk installed at the Abbeville Library (located at 405 E. St. Victor Street) is Head to Toe by Eric Carle and will be up until March 31, 2022. The storyboards are number in the order of the pages of the book and provide a fun and interactive way to read the story. At the end of the story walk is a sign that you scan the QR code with your smartphone or device and tell us about your Story Walk experience or give recommendations on future books/authors to feature.

Both the LSU AgCenter Vermilion Parish Extension Office and the Vermilion Parish Library hope to bring additional Story Walks to other locations around the parish in the future as a way to promote a healthy communities efforts. Grab your family or friends, smart phone head to the Abbeville Library to read and be physically active!
