Happy Father’s Day to the wonderful dad’s of The Vermilion! We celebrated with yummy donuts and of course their favorite game, BINGO!

🌟JUNE RESIDENT OF THE MONTH🌟
Katherine Richardelle, 87 years old.
Ms. Katherine was born in June 1936 to her parents Mr. & Mrs. Hector Curole in Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
She was married to Eunice “EJ” Richardelle for 66 1/2 years.
Together they had 3 children, Cheryl Ann, Jimmy & Darryl, 2 grandchildren, Danielle & Sydney, and 2 great grandchildren, Alex & Cole.
Ms. Katherine worked as an accountant for many years.
Some of Ms. Katherine’s favorite past times included going to the casino, cooking, playing bingo & reading.
Ms. Katherine currently enjoys playing bingo, , doing word puzzles, & listening to music.
Her advice to the younger generation is to always do what you think is right and be good!
Congratulations Ms. Katherine as being selected as our resident of the month.

Brittany Menard, Resident Assistant
Brittany was selected by our residents and has been with The Vermilion for 1 year. She always goes above and beyond for our residents, from making their coffee just right, and giving them the best hugs and showing them love!
Brittany is a mother to 3 beautiful girls, Adalyn, Alayla, & Kenedi. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Today we celebrated the wonderful women of The Vermilion with a tea party! The most delicious pastries were served! The lemon tea with honey sticks were a favorite among our crew!

These Budding Entimologist tried their hand at observing butterflies! We started with the eggs on Thursday, by Friday they had hatched into caterpillars, measuring approximately 1/4 inch long, today, only 6 days later, they are measuring just under 2 inches! We are anxiously waiting to watch them turn to Chrysalis (cocoons), and eventually beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies! Follow along for our weekly updates!

Showered our nurses today with gifts and lunch! Thank you to Carmen our Resident Services Director and Katrina our Office Manager for taking such great care of our residents!

🌟MAY RESIDENT OF THE MONTH🌟
Gertrude Hebert, 93 years old.
Ms. Gertrude was born in October 1930 to her parents Mr. & Mrs. Pinkard White in Ester, Louisiana.
She was married to Loveless Hebert for 72 years.
Together they had 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She says she was blessed with the best grand children; Johnny, Wendy & Jenni and appreciates and loves them more than they will ever know.
She was a homemaker for many years.
Some of Ms. Gertrude’s favorite past times included going to the casino, crocheting, sewing, cooking, playing in her flower garden and looking at photo albums
Ms. Gertrude enjoys playing bingo, reading, doing puzzles and crocheting .
Her advice to the younger generation is to always do the right thing.
Congratulations Ms. Gertrude as being selected as our resident of the month.

John “Axie” Cormier, 95 years old.
Mr. John was born in November, 1928 to his parents Frank & Sylvina Cormier.
He was married to Louella Touchet Cormier for 65 years.
Together they have 3 children; Connie, Ricky, & Danny. He has 6 grandchildren.
Mr. John worked as a carpenter and brick layer for many years.
He served in Korea for the U.S. Army for 2 years.
Some of Mr. John’s favorite past times were fishing, working in his garden, riding horses & coaching his sons little league baseball teams.
Mr. John enjoys playing bingo, listening to music & going for walks.
His advice to the younger generation is to work hard and go to school.
Congratulations Mr. John as being selected as our resident of the month.
