Members from Level Volunteer Fire Company and Aberdeen Fire Department joined together this evening at Aberdeen’s House 1 to train on RIT and MAYDAY techniques and scenarios. Members from both companies learned different techniques to rescue a downed FF from inside IDLH area, shared equipment that both companies use, and participated in a real time scenario for hands on use of the techniques taught.
RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) is an essential crew on the fire ground and must be prepared to work as soon as a FF needs help. Training together between companies shows confidence and the ability to work together when tasked with the same job on the fire ground.
