Sidewalk Connectivity Construction Update:

Barnett & Beards Hill: Sidewalk improvements at Barnette and Beards Hill are on hold while materials required are on order from the contractor's vendor. We will provide a revised schedule when the contractor is ready to begin.

Edmund & Cambridge Areas: New sections of sidewalk for these two streets will begin July 1. We expect this work to be completed in two weeks. No work will occur on July 4th as City offices will be closed.

Please use cautious and be observant when travelling through the vicinity. All normal pedestrian and vehicular traffic regulations should be observed in addition to any temporary controls.

The City of Aberdeen is dedicated to providing a safe and efficient environment for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these improvements.

Beards Hill Road & Barnette Lane Pedestrian Improvements: A DPW Contractor is scheduled to begin construction in the next week at Beards Hill Rd and Barnette Ln. These improvements consist of adding pedestrian ramps, sidewalks and signs. A flashing signal powered by solar will be added so that pedestrians can alert drivers of their intent in crossing the roadway. To support this work, the contractor will be required to adjust the curb alignment, road drainage, and make sidewalk improvements. The project is anticipated to be complete in about 4 weeks. Travel lanes will be operational with temporary traffic controls in place.

Use cautious and be observant of contractors and their vehicles when travelling through the vicinity. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these safety improvements for our pedestrians.
