What July on the ranch looked like for us! 🇺🇸
Lots of recipe testing, lots of fresh flower picking, AND!!! Our new Golden Girls are finally laying BEAUTIFUL colored eggs ❤️
What a joy it is creating things that have only been touched by a single set of hands ✨

The renovation of our home is nearing completion 💙 Next steps after selling our house are to rent until we locate a suitable piece of land to call the new Golden Ranch grounds 🎉

With the renovations nearly complete, it is time to pull out our flowers so that the garden will be ready for pictures when our house goes on the market. Although it is sad to lose them, this little butterfly is a sweet reminder of what lies ahead for us ❤️

This year, we have learned a lot in our homesteading journey and we can’t wait to apply it to the new grounds, whenever that may be!

Things have been a bit quiet on here!

We have been busy bees renovating our home to get it ready to sell here by mid summer! 🏡

We will be moving back to the Dallas area, which will hopefully bring us to the final step in our journey of homesteading on a larger scale, and will bring our dream to life 🥹

Our chickens are fed an organic, soy and corn free diet, and are let loose in a our garden area to help with w**d and bug clean up, making their eggs super nutritious and their yolks a beautiful golden orange color 💛

Most of our baked goods are made with our Golden Girls’ eggs, so you know where your food comes from ✨

Happy Birthday to our sweet Maisy girl! ❤️

On the homestead, Maisy helps us collect eggs, feed the chickens treats, and loves on them 💕
She also helps them get their exercise in by chasing them a lot too 😂
She is our designated taste tester for any new recipes I work on as well 😆

Maisy turns 2 today, and has been dye-free since eating solids at 6 months! We have seen the effects numbered dyes can cause on small children who have sensitive little bodies that know they aren’t supposed to be able to process dyes. When we saw how Maisy reacted to even a small amount of pink frosting, we knew we needed to the generational break for our children.

As a family, we eat dye-free, organic, and unrefined as much as possible. Aaron and I who have grown up on those early 2000’s snacks and foods have seen and felt such a big difference since making the switch for our family, as our bodies have been so desensitized due to the fact that we grew up on such a poor diet that was “normal” at the time.

Which is why we only make our baked goods with those same simple ingredients for all of you! 🥰

Good doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, taking the long and harder route has such great benefits when it comes to preparing food. The benefit of it is you feel closer to your roots during the process of it all 🌱
