Most of the people that voted “About Me” on my story poll already know me entirely too well.. but here it goes:

Hi! I’m Julia and those are the two loves of my life - James and Tatum. If you don’t know us personally, my husband played football for a living. I chose to use the name Julia James Photography because using my middle name felt too long and when I thought about using my last name, all I could picture was the back of his jersey. Julia James felt like the best way to separate my identity as a photographer from our every day lives. James is also our daughter’s middle name so it holds an extra special place in my heart.

I graduated from Oklahoma State with a Master’s Degree in Accountancy. I’m also a CPA. I started taking photos of our horses for fun and then a few years later, that little hobby grew into wedding and portrait photography. Horses, seniors, and weddings are my very favorite things to photograph.

I grew up rodeoing and hope to get back to it someday. We have 13 horses right now, most of which are under 5 years old. So there’s not a lot of free time around our house but when I do have it, I enjoy playing Fortnite, watching football or bad reality TV, reading (currently working through the Sarah J Maas universe), and experimenting with Photoshop or floral design.

That’s all I have for now! I’m planning to be much more active on social media so hopefully I can get to know my followers better. Thanks for following along with this journey 🥰
