Having fun layering collage. I've been getting time in at the studio again. I'm starting to feel a little more my creative self again. :) Happy New Year!
Hi all! I appologize for being quiet for so long. Lots of changes over the years. Currently working on restoring my health so I am on hiatus for a bit longer. I look forward to sharing updates when I can. Stay well and much love!

Hi y'all! I'm coming out of hiding! Sorta. Lolll. So much change in the last 6 months. So much to share. I had to go dark to tend to the rapid changes COVID brought about in my life. But things are calmer now in my life and I am ready to start sharing again! Please know my thoughts have been with you all through this trying and difficult time.
I have some work and prints up in this show. My two small poinsettia pieces are on sale and listed below retail value. I won't be open for Artwalk but you can check out the prints I have at Studio 13 tomorrow. :)
Hi y'all! You can stop by Studio 13 to check out the art! I am participating in this lovely Christmas shopping show. ❤ It's a great time to buy local and handmade!
Getting ideas from my storage unit. An older Van Gogh inspired start of a painting mixed with big ole flowers? Yes, please. :) I'm focusing on completing longterm projects these next two months, so I can start fresh in January. Having difficulty with the holidays tends to make creating and preparing merchandise for them difficult. Not great as an artist. Lol. I surrender this year to not being on the ball and picking up that ball next year. :)
I hope this season is good for you all!
Closed for Artwalk tonight. Not feeling 100%. Hope to post some new stuff soon!
Ran into what looked like a freezing little bird by the studios. She seemed to be looking toward the door, when I first met her. It's freezing in Texas, so she might be in shock, wounded, freezing, or old. I grabbed a box, pillow case & put 7hr hand warmers in it, thinking I might leave it out for her. Ran into a fellow tenderhearted, Jodi klotz, who gave me bread and suggested I give the birdie respite in the studio tonight. I put water, bread, and some dried leaves in the box. Hoping she pulls through.
Good news, she/he at least moved some to get comfy. Update tomorrow.
Here's more photos from Art in the Dark.
A little late but better than never! I had a great time at Studio 13's Art in the Dark last week! We wandered the gallery and studios, viewing the world with flashlights. It was a fabulous focusing tool to allow us to see things in a new way. I'm honored to have had the opportunity to participate in the show. What a wonderful turnout! Thank you Ashley L. for wandering with me! And thank you to artists, Mike Lanier, Amy, Theresa and Jana for their hospitality!

I'm so honored to have just joined their ranks as an Associate Artist Member at Studio 13 and have two of my multi-media works in the show. (I'm still a resident artist . 😘)
There will be food and beverages to enjoy as well. Bring a friend, check out the show and walk through some of the 25 artist studios there. :)

My color palette is more akin to Spring, the time of renewal, rebirth and an uprising of color. But one of my favorite seasons used to be Fall, the old midwestern type of Fall where it gets chilly, the leaves turn orange and red, and you have to wear layers again. Alas, it'll be in the 90's tomorrow and we'll get "Fall" tomorrow night for a day or two in Texas. I'll take it. How's fall by you?
I arrived at the studio to find the most wonderful box of lace, fabrics, ribbons to play with in my paintings!!! Thank you JW!!!
Steampunk Artwalk tonight! I'll be open soon. Slightly delayed.
This is a topic close to my heart and my own personal experience. I am thankful I could contribute to this article. September 24th is the 20th anniversary of my 2nd chance (surviving). Art came after, and I am immeasurably grateful for that and for all of you who support me in my creative journey towards wellness.

Hi! I've been on a hiatus from the studio. I've been pushing hard most of the year and needed to recalibrate a bit. I even did a crafty thing! Painted this bathroom thing to match my decor. So. Much. Fun. Well, that and frustration. But now it's fun! Hope to start posting more again.
I've been hibernating and nesting at the house, tending things that depression left neglected. I can't wait to use this energy at the studio. I hope this reprieve lasts! Yay!

I call this "golden hour" in the studio. Used to have the studio turn golden when I had my ivory/yellow roller shades pulled down in the studio during the hottest time of the day. Before we had UV screens installed, the hot Texas sun would bake through the five foot tall windows and really heat up the room. So I'd pull the shades instead and have the studio lit with golden light. It was so beautiful. I still think of sunset as the golden hour. And eventhough I can now keep my shades open, it still fills with golden rays of light every day.

Almost opted out of Artwalk due to anxiety, but I shall persevere. :) I love seeing you guys.
Tryin' day by day to find my way. I hope you find some beauty and joy in your life today! It's been a sad, dark time. Let's lift each other up how we can.
If I were to offer workshops, what would you want to work on with me or learn?
I'M SO EXCITED to be included in the 28th Annual Breckenridge Fine Art Center Juried Art Show up through September 5th, 2019. Go check it out! Amazing work in all mediums! And my piece is in their catalog, too. How cool is that! I also loved that they talked in front of my piece at the reception Saturday. 🙃🙃😀❤🎆😊
The Fine Arts Center is quite stunning. They have several ongoing exhibits including "All that Glitters: Festical Dresses of Texas," the Kathyrn Leach Doll Collection, and a wonderful permanent collection of bronze sculptures and art. Worth the trip for sure!
