Love this graphic I created showing this lip neutralization + lipstick tattoo I did. This took us 3 sessions to go from the beginning to the end result lipstick color. The end result color is SO beautiful!💖 Thankful for everyone who trusts me and trusts the process 🫶🏼

I want to go over eyebrow expectations for a minute! I know I tell everyone this at their appointment, but it can be hard to remember when going through the emotional healing rollercoaster😬

When eyebrows are first done, they will be sharper and darker then they will be when healed. They will never “stay” exactly how they look immediately after. I use inorganic pigments, not tattoo ink, and it’s implanted into the deep layer of the epidermis, not the dermis like a tattoo. So it is made to appear softer as it heals. This layer can only handle so much saturation at a time without peeling off, so if your goal is to have a more dramatic look you most likely will need to do a touchup to add more saturation later.

Once your eyebrows are done, aftercare is SO IMPORTANT. I do my part and have to trust that you will protect your investment and do yours as well! If you do everything correctly, there’s also skin type, genetics, lifestyle, hormones, thyroid, blood count, medications, sun exposure that can all play a role in how well your specific body retains pigment in the skin. I do my best screening for any contraindications but I unfortunately cannot see all the things going on inside your body. If you have extremely light, thick eyebrow hairs you will probably still have to fill them in to cover the hairs. If you wear heavy foundation, it’s a possibility you will still have to fill your eyebrows in because they may get washed out by your makeup. If you are in the sun or a tanning bed without sunscreen the red in your pigment will metabolize faster and your eyebrows will ash out quickly. Just trying to set realistic expectations for you guys! My #1 goal is to have happy clients! I want you to have your perfect eyebrows more than you do, I promise 😘

Really loving this fluffy brow combo brow trend!! Who wants to do this? To be able to do this you would need to have full (but sparse) eyebrows naturally. Coarse & thin brow hair wouldn’t blend well with this. Normal to dry skin only! Oily or large pored skin wouldn’t last😭

One week ago I talked to the beautiful lady these eyelashes belonged to, not knowing it would be the last time & that she would pass away the next day. She came to me every 2 weeks for over 4 years. She opened up to me about many things in her life, the good and bad. Over time, like many of you — we grew a friendship. 🩷I loved her & I have mourned and grieved tremendously this week. Although I never hung out with her outside of her appointments I formed a bond with her that has made this unexpected loss extremely painful.

I share this because I want ALL of you to know, whether you come to me once or twice, once every year, every 2 years, or like her every 2 weeks, YOU MATTER TO ME. When you choose me for your services you are gaining someone who will root for you in life, who wants to see you win, someone who will have your back. Someone you can open up to about anything without judgement. Or just someone you can come to and rest/lay and take a nap if that’s what you need lol and be comfortable knowing you are in good hands. There’s been times I have gone to bed with a heavy heart and prayed for some of you and your life situations. More times than I can count. There’s been times I have grieved with you. There’s been times I’ve gone home worrying about you, or trying to think ways to help you. Or sometimes I go home so proud of you! Many of you even inspire me. You guys hold a chunk of my heart. Each one of you is so special & I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Whether you’re a client now, former client, or maybe a future client 😘 please know you have a friend in me. You have a safe place & someone who cares. Never hesitate to reach out💖

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work-life balance.

You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All the while being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed.
It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives.

Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!
And know that 2022 prices are not 2023 prices.
