Feel Good Friday story!! Palooka and Kisser. ❤️
Palooka and Kisser came in a bonded pair needing a lot of TLC! Kisser had a few families wanting to adopt her but Palooka was a package deal and it was thought at the time that Palooka might have been blind so it was a hard case to find the perfect family. But we did 🙌🏻 and they came to visit this week…. WOW!! The difference in Palooka is AMAZING and Kisser looked so beautiful too. They had so much happiest in their eyes! 🥹🥹 Palooka is not blind but has limited vision. Her new mom is treating her eyes 3 times a day with drops and they just looked great! So happy for them and their new mom! They needed each other! Thank you to our donors who helped with Palooka and Kissers care while they were here!

Radar came into RTA two months ago wearing a little blue harness after his owner passed away. He was in our lobby kennel area where we could see him and not one time in that two months could we touch this scared boy. He lunged and try to bite if we got close. So we would gently pull his potty pad out to change and feed him. Our sweet friend Jo Peterson came to get him to see how he would do in a home. And He did great!! He came to visit today to get his nails trimmed and he finally got to get out of that blue harness. He was like a completely different dog. He has been through a lot but thankful we worked through it and he’ll have a bright future! Thank you Jo for helping us with Radar!

💛 Patrick 💜 Available for Adoption!! Patrick has been at RTA since February with no interest yet in getting a forever home. He is one of the puppies that was dumped under the bridge in a tote by our building. He is just a mixed puppy now 8 months old. Patrick is fixed and up to date on all his vaccines. Out of all the National Pet Days Mutt Day is just special…That’s Probably why it’s celebrated twice a year! 💜🐾 A day to celebrate the mixed breed dogs that are often overlooked but incredibly deserving! 🙌🏻

Update: We are so sad to let everyone know that Cole has passed away. It’s hard to think that he had suffered so long and when he finally got help it was just too late. 😭 They had him on fluids and antibiotics but due to the extreme neglect and kidney infection his body gave out. He passed away in the night. We want to thank each and every one of you that commented, shared and donated to his care. We really came together to show this boy love in his final days. After paying Cole’s bill there will be some remaining funds left that we will have on stand by for our next emergency! We appreciate you all so much!

Sitting on our porch this morning when we arrived at 7am was this poor guy in an Amazon Box. He was taken straight to the clinic and it was all hands on deck to get this dog the relief he desperately needed. They were cutting his hair and cockroaches and bugs were coming out of the matted hair. 😭 Poor thing can’t even walk. He has been this way a long time. His kidney levels were high and he has a really bad kidney and bladder infection. He will be staying at the clinic until he is in better health! Will you help us help him? 💜🐾

You might remember our post about Mufusa a few weeks ago. Well Look how good he is looking now that his hair is growing back. So glad we were able to save his leg! Doing good, feeling good! 🙌🏻💜

We got more white buckets donated and these black containers picked up today from Tractor Supply! More coming later. A friend of RTA worked out a good price for us! 🙌🏻 Every kennel will now have a good amount of water. Working to get them all out now! Thank you all so much!

Buckets and Bowls have started coming in!! 🙌🏻 We are picking up half our Tractor Supply order tomorrow as well! Thank you all so much for making this happen for the dogs! We asked and you all really came through for us! We appreciate you all so much!

This one had me tearing up. Erika was brought in from a hoarding case and has been with us and up for adoption a long time. She is a very well mannered, incredibly sweet girl that deserves the best home! She is getting that opportunity and headed out on transport tonight! 🥹💜 So happy for her!

Who know it was Guinea Pig Appreciation Day!?🙌🏻💜 Great Day to post a cute picture of our boy Julio that we picked up at least a year ago from the Abilene Animal Shelter! Such a sweet, talkative boy!

Our Executive Director Lora Jones and Trace at the Best Friends National Conference in Orlando! They have been soaking in all the information from the awesome line up of speakers in the Rescue World.

We need help!! We REALLY need larger water bowls or buckets for all our kennels. The dogs have been drinking a lot more water and we want to make sure they never go dry. Some like to play in it so we have to watch those guys close. It would be great if we could get 80 buckets! They are around 4-5 dollars a piece for the 2 gallon. We have some nice metal ones and metal food bowls added to our Amazon Wish List as well or if you just have buckets at home to donate we would gladly take those as well! Any donations can be dropped off at 4620 N. 1st Street! Thank you so much!
