Making changes, creating boundaries, or even starting a new hobby are not contingent on the support of other people.
YOU are the only one who has to decide. It is YOUR life.

Let’s not live our life based on the opinion or lack of support of others. 👏🏼

Go after what you want! You can do it, and the appropriate support will follow. Support is nice when starting something new, not a necessity. 😉

TPC is partnering with this giving season. Pregnancy Resources of Abilene inspires hope and empowers lives. They are here to make sure people are well-informed, well-equipped, and well-loved. 🤍

The items we are asking the community and our clients to help us support Pregnancy Resources will help families in need. They give out free diapers, wipes, and formula every Thursday.

Please help us support this valuable organization by donating or sharing this post. Items needed are on the next slide.

We appreciate the Abilene community, and believe we are all stronger together.

Anyone else feel like life is just a series of problems to be solved? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Did you know identifying our feelings can help solve those problems? Our feelings help guide us through life.

Step 1: Identify what you are feeling and how intense. You can use a scale 1-10, anything above a 5 requires coping skills to regulate yourself.

Step 2: Investigate further. I feel ____ because ______. The answer to this question leads you to the problem that needs to be solved.

Step 3: Think about possible solutions or ask others to help.

⭐️ Our feelings are trying to work for us, not against us ⭐️

🔔 Modality Series!

“In his New York Times bestselling book The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, Dr. John Gottman writes, “Although you may feel your situation is unique, we have found that all marital conflicts fall into two categories: Either they can be resolved, or they are perpetual, which means they will be part of your lives forever, in some form or another.” Gottman says that 69% of marital conflicts are perpetual problems, and these are of particular focus in much of the work performed by Gottman-trained therapists.”

Welcome to TPC! 🎉

Allison has worked with us at the front desk for 8 years, all while completing her education and training to become a fully licensed therapist.

Help us welcome her aboard, and she is accepting new clients! ☺️

A little bit about Allison-
“My main forms of therapy tend to be solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy and person centered with a priority in making changes in behavior and thinking. However, all forms of therapy are used in my practice including but not limited to narrative, reality, mindfulness, play therapy, some art therapy, and sand tray therapy to explore all facets of the self. I will use whatever works best for you. I believe that therapy is a place to explore uncomfortable emotions, issues, and trauma, as well as explore who you are, who you have been and what you want for your future with a focus on your strengths, resilience, and balance.
Since 2020 I have worked with a variety of children, adolescents, and adults in all walks of life, mental health issues, and other areas. I have significant experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicidality, self-harm, stress, negative thinking, and self-identity. I offer appointments after 5 and on Saturdays as well.
I have always viewed my practice like this: You can't start fixing the house until you clean up the glass on the floor. And that's where I try and start, taking care of the immediate problems as much as possible so we can focus on reaching where you want to be. While I cannot promise it will be easy, I can promise that I'll be there with you.”

Often times we search for apologies, words, or actions from people who have hurt us. We are searching for validation that we were hurt, the only person this validation can truly come from is ourselves.

We cannot take responsibility for someone else’s action in hurting us, however we do have the responsibility in our own healing. ❤️‍🩹

During this season, let's reflect on gratefulness. We can value what we DO have versus what we WANT.

Do you have your health?
Do you have a roof over your head?
Do you still have loved ones?
Do you have food on your table?
Do you have access to clean water?

Shifting our perspective on what we do have can help change how we feel about our life.

What are things you currently have?
What do you value?
