Abington’s Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) is pleased to announce the winners of the “Excellence in Special Education” Award. The 2024 winners of the award are:

The spirit of this award is to honor Special Educators who demonstrate advocacy, support, and partnership for students with disabilities. Catherine and Brendan are recognized as constant advocates for student needs, exemplary practitioners of Special Education, and committed partners to families in order to achieve the best outcomes for children. Thanks to Catherine and Brendan for improving outcomes for Abington’s students with disabilities.

This workshop is intended for all parents with students currently on or being evaluated for an IEP (Individual Education Plan)
Don't miss this chance to ask questions and understand the changes coming to the new IEP form rolling out this fall! This workshop will be presented by James Robbins -Director of Student Services, and special education staff from across the district including Annie Robinson, Nick Rodriques, Bobby Kippenhan, and Victoria McSweeney.
This event, sponsored by SEPAC, will offer light refreshments and childcare provided by the AHS National Honor Society.

Abington's SEPAC wishes to honor the Special Educators who go above-and-beyond in their work. SEPAC will consider nominations for Special Education Teachers, Related Service Providers (Psychologists, Speech/Language Therapists, OTs, and PTs), and paraprofessionals. All Special Educators will be notified of their nomination and one Special Education teacher, as well as one paraprofessional, will win the Excellence in Special Education Award. The award will be presented at the School Committee Meeting on May 28.
